I live fairly close to Vermont, the Lesbian per capita is enormous.
That state will NEVER turn Red.
The Green Mountains is a extremely peaceful place to visit though....

I spent a lot of time in VT in the 60’s and early 70’s. Land was dirt cheap in the North East Kingdom and the hippies built a commune in Island Pond and the State went Commie shortly there after.

If you wanted to see poor you went to North East Vermont but the people had a certain strength of caricature that stood out over adversary.

The commies moved in and things went from bad to worse and Native Vermonters can not afford to live in the land of their Ancestors.

It's all about social issues here. A charismatic Libertarian could easily be successful.

If you live there you may be right, but if it really is all about social issues, I suspect you'd just get Democrats who downplay economic issues and avoid tax increases (or socially liberal Republicans), rather than somebody expressing a full-fledged libertarian point of view.
