Mayor Bill de Blasio said this is 'not the time for politics' following the murder of two police officers in Brooklyn on Saturday.
This as New York City's police commissioner said the gunman who ambushed and killed two police officers had made online posts that were 'very anti-police.'
Police Commissioner William Bratton choked up at a news conference at the Woodhull medical Center on Saturday afternoon as he talked about the fatal shootings of two officers in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness who spoke to The Daily Beast said that 'a lot of people were clapping and laughing' following the murder of the two police officers.
'Some were saying, "They deserved it," and another was shouting at the cops, "Serves them right because you mistreat people!”'said the man, identified as Carlos.

It does go to show though how issues like this brings out the trolls.
Many cops and firefighters have thrown their allegiance to the GOP for years — union members who frequently stray from labor’s longtime support for Democrats.
A host of new Republican governors is changing all that.
Democrats win their share of public-safety union endorsements, and the International Association of Fire Fighters — which calls itself “the most bipartisan union in the AFL-CIO” — was one of the first unions to endorse Democrat John Kerry in 2004, and later endorsed Barack Obama in 2008.
Now it looks like the 2011 labor fights won’t just energize the Democratic-leaning union members but could cause some of the Republican-leaning ones to break away.

Than you for the reasonable response, I agree with you. It is all senseless. Pretty sad to see the way our country has turned since LBJ started this War on the Family.
But, while the world gets more savage around us, perhaps this should be a haven of (relative) civility. A place where we can go to remember what it is like to be human. :)

How many cops have you seen on these outrageous videos turn in the bad cops? 2 percent thug pigs, 98 percent COVERING for the thug pigs.
To be fair, I'd put the estimate more like 20 percent thug pigs. Then I would estimate 20 percent are cops who know something but say nothing, and that makes them bad, too. That still leaves 60 percent good cops who have no direct and evidenciary knowledge of the actions of the bad ones (it is hard to turn in a rumor).
And I bet my estimates of the bad cops, are too high.
