These cop murders happened a dozen miles to the east of me; DeBlasio’s opponent (a liberal RINO) tried the law-and-order scare tactics and failed miserably.
NYC has the mayor its voters wanted; they still want him. In “America”, cops are part of the larger community; in NYC many don’t live in the city once they can escape. Liberals have successfully separated the police form the administration; they loathe one, while loving the other. When you see those large demonstrations in NYC, you may assume many of those people are voters there.
IIRC the turnout for the mayors’ race was ridiculously low...he seems to have won the hardcore Communist vote. If normal people had been voting it might have made a difference!
