Dan Fogelberg died 7 years ago this week, just a few weeks after I signed onto FR.

He was a musical genius, IMHO, I loved his music.

#7 – Rita Coolidge: “We’re All Alone”

It was a shock for me to discover that Boz Scaggs wrote this song because I didn’t think him capable of such melodic invention. His own recording is decent, but it doesn’t approach what a great singer could do with a song like this. This is his masterpiece.

Billy Murray sold a lot of records in the early years of the twentieth century. Most of his cylinders and discs were acoustic, made before electrical recording was introduced in 1925.
