Bill Cosby protesters plan to disrupt Hamilton show

A Hamilton writer is recruiting people to buy tickets to comedian Bill Cosby's upcoming performance in the city so they can disrupt the show inside the theatre.

Anne Bokma said "the numbers are growing every day" of people planning to join her for a non-violent protest during Cosby's Jan. 9 show at Hamilton Place Theatre.

Bokma said she's been contacted through her website by both people who want to join her by buying $90 tickets, and people who have tickets to the show who don't want to go anymore and are unable to get refunds. They're giving Bokma their tickets so she can distribute them to people prepared to be part of the protest.

"There will be an interruption," she said. "Exactly what we’re doing and how many people, I can't tip my hand."

If they really want to do it right, they’ll have several interruptions, not just one big one. They need one or two people to interrupt him about every 15 minutes or so. That would be more bothersome than having 20 people stand up and shout at the same time. I’m not condoning this, just pointing out how the protesters can be more effective.

> I’m surprised three things haven’t happened yet;

Those things haven't happened yet because they require actual facts.

Now, it happens that I personally believe Cosby is guilty of doing some or all of the things he's accused of doing. But that's aside from this question.

So far, NOT ONE THING has been offered that could be evidence in a trial. It's all hearsay and innuendo and fantastical stories.

The things you mention, paternity suits, physical damage, work contracts... these are real things with the possibility of real documentation and real evidence.

Far as I can tell, none of these women have any such thing to present. Just talk.

That's why the three things you mention haven't happened. This thing is about tearing Cosby down in the public eye and the press, and ruining him. It's a vendetta, not a legal case.

“It’s a vendetta, not a legal case.”

I’m saddened and surprised at the number of people in this forum that are willingly blinded by their Lynch Mob raging at cosby. It’s an Orwellian two minutes for which ultimately I expect them to be regretful in their inner hearts. I agree there may be a ‘there there’, but it could be a clintonian semantic exposition on the meaning of ‘is’. Or perhaps even some sort of Goldbergian reduction of ‘Rape Rape’.

In any case I think I would like to first see these people prosecute the OTHER Bill, rather than pile on to this current Bimbo Eruption.

Legal? In Canada? Perhaps not, since Canada does not have a 1A...

IANAL

You could say the same about the Sandusky case. Many of the boys had ZERO evidence other than their telling what happened. There was no DNA, police reports, eye witnesses, or video. One of the boys lied at first and said it didn’t happen and even said he sent letters to Sandusky praising him as like family. News flash: Just like the Cosby women some of these boys only had “just talk” and it was enough to get convictions.

Even if all of this amounts to nothing it has brought attention to some real facts. Cosby has admitted to being an adulterer and possibly fathering a child. Even though that’s old news, many people didn’t know it because it was barely reported. He’s not the saint he’s portrayed himself to be.

He is all done. Fouche, Napoleons minister of police had an aphorism “ It is not enough to merely kill a man. You must destroy his reputation”

I don’t know who has it in for Cosby but he will never recover from this

Can you tell me the connection the Cosby threads have with Virginia? The Cosby articles keep showing up on the right column of my screen and I haven’t yet figured out how Virginia is involved. Thanks for the clarification!

There is no connection IMHO between the cosby articles and virginia on your computer.

to me, it sounds like you might be interested in virginia independently of your interest in cosby.

your computer collects information about your web browsing habits. web sites that you visit track your interests by your login names and things like “cookies.”

if you have an email service, then the company providing that service might scan your email messages, searching for keywords. the more such keywords show up in your email messages, the more the company knows what your interests are, where you probably live, work, vacation, and other personal information.

some of your browsing and email message contained interests are sold from one company to another company. eventually they build a database containing your interests, keyed by your login names and cookies.

so when you read a news article, such as a news article on cosby, the website also displays advertisements whose companies pay the website to display. the website figures out your interests from a database and then displays ads that the company believes you might be interested in as a customer for their products and/or services. it is individually directed advertising.

(this is just a semi-uneducated guess, and someone else might know more or differently...)

alternatively if it is mostly if not all true, the alleged victims have all realized that he is beyond reach of the law, and are instead focused on the laudable positive goal of ensuring via publicity and their right to free speech that BC never harms another woman again using sex, administering controlled substances to persons without their knowledge, giving alcohol to minors, false imprisonment, rape, and/or conspiracy.

should BC be innocent, all he need do is sue the individuals coming forward for libel using his high priced attack lawyers.

unless and until BC sues his accusers and prevails or settles, his accusers are within their rights to exercise their freedom of speech.

this is a free country. BC is a big boy with lots of money. If BC is innocent, BC can pull his pants up and start suing these people. It’s not a difficult concept for a guy with $400 million of disposable income and one of the highest priced attack lawyers in the world on retainer.

What is wrong with this picture— BC with loads of money, declining to allow his high priced attack lawyer to file libel/slander counter lawsuits against 29 and counting accusers, presumably all easy sluts who had it coming to them or gold diggers or ambitious would-be models or conspirators or some combination of all of the above, as BC’s defenders seem to claim? Why does not BC himself come out and call all of these 29 women easy sluts who had it coming to them, or whatever? The effect of remaining silent is that he is hiding behind his family, friends and supporters and letting his family, friends, and supporters do the heavy lifting of preserving his public reputation rather than doing it himself. A hero leads the charge, a coward follows it at a safe distance.

Also where are most of his co-workers on the record? And where are his employers/bosses?

????

Oh yes, because I think that the law should take its course in Cosby’s case I therefore support Obamacare. You must have extensive training in logic skills.

Actually, I do a lot with logic so you are correct in that. You are the one who claimed that the law is primary and that you are sick of protesters. Obamacare has taken the course of law and been decided. Therefore according to your OWN statement and logic you must therefore now support (and not protest) Obamacare. No difference.

Now back in reality, there are plenty of cases where civil cases can and are won even when there is no criminal recourse. A lack of criminal charges, or conviction does not mean that nothing happened.

I really don’t get why you people are supporting a rapist. 3 or 4 women is one thing - we are up to 24 women with no connection, and many with nothing to gain. Where there is smoke there is fire and why are you defending a liberal? Newsflash - Cosby supports Obamacare and uses your same (lack of) logic.

Wow. You think that is reasoning? Because I don’t got out and stop traffic and loot stores I approve of Obamacare? You may think that’s logic, but you are obviously irrational.
