A group claiming to be the hacktivist organization Anonymous has joined in the hunt for the murderer of a Mississippi teenager, posting information about people they claim have some connection to the crime.
Meanwhile, the family of Jessica Chambers, the young woman who was set on fire and left for dead on the side of the road in Panola County, Mississippi, has asked the group to stop tweeting about the case.
A Twitter account that claims to be managed by Anonymous has posted information that says Chambers' death is related to gang activity, according to a USA Today story. Other bloggers have joined in with their own theories as to what happened to the 19-year-old before she was found, burned over more than 98 percent of her body, on Dec. 6.
"Please as Jessica's Mother I am asking you to stop all the foolish talk!! I am SICK OF IT!!! I stand behind the Panola County Sheriffs Department 100%!! Please let them do their Job!! Thank You!!!" wrote Lisa Daugherty, Jessica Chambers' mother on the Facebook page "Justice for Jessica."

I think she sick of hearing about how her daughter should not have been dating a black guy. IMO.
There’s a blogger “sundance” who seems to have done a lot of research on this case.
Hmm. Gas station owner fits the profile of a jihad type who reportedly allows gang members to sell drugs in his store.
Maybe he’s not connected to the whole thing?
Amish don’t neckalce their women...
Oh-oh. Sounds like somebody has already talked to Jessica’s mother about this.
Bkmrk
The same Sheriff that said “we don’t anticipate making any arrests”? That’s the one that we are supposed to let do his job?
This whole thing smells fishier than a pelican turd. Supposedly the Dad has a prior meth arrest. Does the Mom have any priors? Drug dealers, Jihadis, corrupt officials, ex-druggie Dad, black gangs and boyfriends...this has the makings of a Grisham novel.Anonymous may actually be the only entity able to unravel this crap quilt.
The best guess, according to Sundance is that she got involved with a black gang and the black gang silenced her when she wanted to get her life together.
Nice life ya got there, Mom.
Be a shame if "something" happened to it...
If anything it shows how LEO is having a blind eye on that service station.
I live in a Memphis suburb and I seen the mother on local news. I get the impression she’s from Batesville’s trashy trailer park set and not overly bright. She naïve if she has much trust in law enforcement.
Don't worry - Farce Enlawment is on it.
Wonder if Pennsylvania & the Feds will send down 1000 officers who will search for 5 weeks to find this young lady's murderers?...
I agree. Her sister claimed in a TV interview that nobody disliked Jessica and there was nobody in her life who could have done it. Yet there are photos of her with gang members. And an article claimed Jessica had been in a home for battered women, had previously been beaten, and that on the night of her murder she had been out in pajamas.
I live a couple counties up. You see younger people out in pajamas all the time.
Sounds like it’s a family affair.
Yeah.
Mrs. Chambers should be thankful #Anonymous and The Conservative Treehouse are looking into the matter; without their interest—and posts—the Panola County Sheriff’s Office would be still waiting for “word to come in from the street” on Jessica’s killer. Those were the words used by the local sheriff during a press conference a few days ago.
I’m also guessing the Chambers family doesn’t want their past exposed. Public records show that her father and brother (now deceased) were indicated and jailed for running a meth lab 10 years ago. Despite his felony conviction, the elder Chambers still got a job as a mechanic with the Panola County Sheriff’s Office.
And the WTF moments just keep on comin’ Anonymous claims they have information linking the infamous, Yemeni-owned gas station with local gangs...and ties between those gangs and other street gangs in Memphis and Chicago. In fact, they just published the “roster” of the local Gangster Disciple chapter on-line. They have also questioned whether the gas station’s owners have paid their taxes, suggesting the hackers have access to banking/financial data.
To be sure, a lot of these posts are a blend of fact, rumor and innuendo. But Treehouse and Anonymous have done more to keep the story alive than any other group or individuals. Without them, the death of Jessica Chambers would be chalked up as another unsolved murder.
I should also give credit to CNN for digging into the case as well. One of their better investigative reporters, Drew Griffin, has been in Panola County and the sheriff threatened to come after him—after Griffin reported on some of the questionable hiring practices. It was revealed today that the sheriff’s cousin (a part-timer with the department) has been accused of statutory rape.
Personal note: I lived in a neighboring county for 10 years and owned a home in the area until 2010. Panola County is an absolute cesspool; if the feds do their job properly, lots of folks will be going to jail, and the trail may lead all the way back to radicals in Yemen.
