The Cruz-Lee point of order and why the GOP establishment thinks you are an idiot

In the wake of the passage of CRomnibus –on the strength of GOP votes – the GOP leadership in Congress and the GOP establishment has been working overtime to rough up Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Utah Senator Mike Lee. A lot of the GOP is miffed that they have to serve alongside men of principle, this produces a Devil-Holy Water effect. They also realize based on the government shutdown… an act I’d contend mobilized the GOP base to come out and deliver a beating to the Democrats in November… and the forced vote on the Constitutionality of the Obama’s executive action on immigration (21 Republican senators agreed with the premise that Obama’s actions were constitutional)… the leadership is panicked about the Hell the next Congress will be for them as they try to feed the pigs at the trough, accommodate the Chamber of Commerce on amnesty, and give Obama whatever he wants all the while trying to convince conservatives that they are actually putting up a fight. This is hard with a caucus moving in lockstep. With a handful of men like Cruz and Lee it becomes nearly impossible.

The story being pushed is this, that Cruz and Lee pushing for their vote on the Constitutionality of Obama’s amnesty directive resulted in boodles of Obama nominees being confirmed. To believe this claim three things have to occur:

You have to believe Harry Reid was going to let the nominations lapse and put them in the hands of the next, Republican controlled, Senate.

You have to believe Harry Reid and his staff have never heard of a calendar.

You have to be an idiot (this, you’ll find, makes it much easier to believe what the GOP leadership in the House and Senate are selling).

I am done with the republican party, unless it is run by real conservatives. As long as the current House and Senate leadership is in office the party gets nothing from me.

They just took away 1/2 of the new congress’s voice in the next two years of budget battles. Yet again McConnel has given the democrat’s what they want. He is a whore.

Hairy Reed has no intention of letting the appointments go until the next session.

How stupid does the GOP really think its rank and file really are? The eadership of the GOP is showing that they are not the sharpest knives in the GOP drawer.

When I saw the headlines of these articles, how "Ted Cruz let it happen", you just knew it was twisted lies. If Harry Reid could do it 'over the weekend' he certainly could do it this week too. It didn't pass the smell test. These same articles included 'feigned anger' tidbits like this from the Wacko Bird's twin ...

“The surgeon general nominee – previously blocked – will be confirmed due to missteps,” said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) of South Carolina on Saturday, according to CQ Roll Call. “I haven’t seen Harry Reid smile like this in years. I don’t like it one bit.”

You can tell that it was all orchestrated Kabuki Theatre. Lady Lindsey loves Harry, especially when he smiles. I do hope that the backlash is severe on this and that there is movement underfoot, led by Senators Cruz and Lee, to challenge the Senate leadership over this dereliction of duty and their obvious lying about it.

“How stupid does the GOP really think its rank and file really are?”

Good question. FReepers are hardly the Low/No Information crowd.

Yet there have been a few FReepers who have apparently fallen for the Establishment lie that the Obummer nominations would never have been brought to the Senate floor during the lame duck session had Cruz and Lee not pushed their point of order.

Unless there is a Senate rule that allowing the Cruz vote opened the door for voting on all O’bastard’s nominees without farther debate?

It could be that the vote took all the nominee blocking tools off the table? I don’t know but I think someone mentioned something like that.

Ditto.

But, you malign whores.

I had a friend who said the only honest people on earth are professional wrestlers and whores.

Everyone KNOWS professional wrestling is fixed and a whore KNOWS she’s a whore.

:)

Those ‘republican’ clowns in DC don’t even rate THAT kind of esteem, from ME.

Could I offer an answer as to why the GOP Establishment thinks that you are an idiot?

If I am allowed to answer, my response would be, "Because you continue to vote for them election after election and they after each election, continue to stab you in the back, to slander and libel you as well as to continue to destroy you {figuratively] from the day after each election until election day of the next election.

I've pretty much stayed away and out of any "I'm done with the Republican Party" thoughts because ... I really, REALLY wanted to see America "come back", but I'm forced to admit ... she's gone .. as I once knew her, and any salvation will be done by a third party.

Though the TEA party is not an official arm of politics, it is most definitely a sincere element of the heart of America and our politics.

If we have to be known by something else (yet still conservative), OK .. let it be the TEA party.

I was SO elated the morning after the vote (though being in Pennsylvania, I was seriously disappointed we lost Corbett for Governor and got commie democrat elect in Wolf) ... but what bonehead and others have been doing with the clear mandate the conservatives in America gave them is more than a reasonable man can stand without retaliating in SOME manner.

The Republican Party may exist in name, but those that are voting away the freedom of America are not Republican ... they are commie enemies of the state

I'll even go so far, considering our Christian heritage, their influence and political momentum is Satanic.

Blessed is the nation who's God is the Lord

We once believed that and tried to live it, but we have ceased being good ... thus our greatness is ended.

But don’t you understand, they promise this time to be true, and they will the next time and the next time and the next time...

Some conservatives-freepers like the lash and being lied too and practice political insanity like it’s perfectly acceptable behavior. If their spouse or a close friend betrayed them they might end that relationship but their relationship with the GOP is deeper than anything in the world to them for some twisted reason. They like abuse and eat it like candy.
