I don't believe it. What cultures do this kind of thing? It certainly isn't acceptable in American culture, and it seems unlikely that it's acceptable in Australia, either. It's a third-world kind of holdover, and a middle eastern kind of thing.

But, it would be great for us to get the point where open carry was common and whenever a mooselim walked into an establishment, everyone stopped, stared, and moved their coats to clean their guns.
