How would they know about it? NSA?

The time the new law will result in a charge and prosecution is when an illegally transferred firearm is subsequently used in a crime.

The Feds only require a background check on guns bought at retail gun shops and inside gun shows in some states. Private sales between individuals no.

I buy and sell cameras inside and outside of shows without a license or background check.

And Nikons don’t even have their own Amendment!

So, you don’t think that once a government accrues to itself the power and ability to abuse you it won’t do so for political purposes?

OK...I know I should have said “all modern handguns” rather than “all guns.” But all modern handguns still require a background check, correct? The Brady Act and all that.... Frankly, I haven’t bought a gun since the 90’s....it’s all I can do to keep the ones I’ve got clean.... ;-)

Wrong again, Joe. The Brady law applies only to firearms SOLD through an FFL. Private sales and/or transfers do not fall under Brady. You need to brush up on the 20,000 or so current firearms regulations. Ignorance is no excuse. /s

It’s a 120 mile drive for me to get to Olympia, fighting Seattle and Tacoma traffic, so I stayed home. I’d like to see rallies held in front of all the 39 county courthouses on Jan. 15th, not just Olympia. I’d bet a lot more would turn out. How about it, Washingtonians?

Better than that. An event is being planned somewhere in Eastern a Washington for this summer. It will be a family friendly camp out/gun show where I-594 non compliant sales and transfers will be taking place. We will dare them to arrest us. Put up or shut up event. Watch the usual gun friendly websites for information.

You can’t even let a friend hold your gun ... it’s considered a transfer under the initiative and therefore a background check must be made.

So when my hunting group is climbing into the back of a pickup to try our luck somewhere else and I hand my rifle to someone already in the truck for safety while I climb in, we have both become felons?

Thank the Lord, there really are people here who have backbones.

There will be more of this.

The first shot has been fired...

straight into the heart of the liberal agenda.

Precedence has been set.

The authorities have made the law unenforceable by deciding to not act when a clear violation of the law was done en masse with law enforcement watching AND announcing they would not act to enforce the law.

Lawyers will line up to represent anyone who is charged with breaking this law in the future. It's a slam dunk win.

The elites have gone over the bend as far as violating our freedom, and it looks like America is not blindly following them anymore.

If we (the tea party) could only get the left to understand that the disrespect for and the violation of the constitution is behind police officers being trained with an itchy trigger finger and courts and Federal government being careless about our bill of rights, we could really make progress towards turning this ship around.

Socialism is what we have now and it is not the answer - culturally, politically nor economically!

Sales through Federal Firearms Licensees, new or used, require a NICS background check. A sale neighbor to neighbor does not. Except now in Washington state. Except not on the capitol steps last Saturday in Olympia.

If you were working there then you were basically disarmed as you couldn’t park your car on their property if you had a weapon in the car. The law say’s that they cannot prohibit the weapon in the car as long as it was out of sight and the car was locked.

This is very similar to what "THEY" have done to many military bases…for instance the Navy Yard shooter incident in Washington DC: military personnel were not allowed to carry weapons; only guards, AND cellphones with cameras were not allowed so no one was able to call for help, or let their family know they were safe.
