If I were to be taken hostage and there was only one guy taking us hostage I would take the first opportunity to attack the jackass. Especially if he shot one of us. I would hope that once I made a move on him that my fellow hostages would join me. And unless he killed me during the fight he would most definitely NOT survive the incident.

NO...he had claimed there were other bombs in area, and he was seen with two men right before the hostages were taken...so not sure, but I would be careful is I were Australia police.

This Sheik was just in court Friday, and took the hostages on Monday in Australia, Sunday here.
They can’t get rid of them because they are not “bastardising” their religion, they are the FUNDAMENTALISTS of their religion... Their “religion” does not teach that all human life is sacred, it does not have a concept of “live and let live”. It literally means SUBMIT to the will of Allah, or be subjugated by those who do. If you do not, you can and should be killed for it.
Islam does not bother itself with your immortal soul, it is all about ensuring that you bow down to it in this world.
