Thanks for replying to my post #7
To clarify I thought his statement about “black media” whoever that is, was crazy.
My point was those who attempt to bring charges after such a long duration do a disservice in promoting victim justice. We need to seriously change our culture and justice system if victims are afraid to come forth.
I don’t know if Cosby is or is not guilty. I refuse to judge based upon what a media that gets profits by increasing the shrill and hype index. They thrive on these types of cases that always revolve around something that they can then use to divide society - racism, gender, trans gender, guns, GLTB, etc.
Having served on criminal juries, I simply refuse to judge and try people based upon what the entertainment media says, be it Nancy Grace or Wolf Blitzer or etc.
“I dont know if Cosby is or is not guilty. I refuse to judge based upon what a media that gets profits by increasing the shrill and hype index.”
I’m in the same boat, and like you I think that the justice system, unfettered, needs to work here. Certainly Cosby deserves no less, but it does concern me how much he spends on lawyers trying to “spin” this whole issue. If he were truly innocent, it seems to me that his legal approach would be completely different. People with money must not escape the system’s scrutiny.
I refuse to judge on mob mentality.
I want evidence.
It can be said that Bill was a player was back in the 60’s, that in it self does not make him a rapist and I would suggest all these women knew what they were flirting with at the time.
Why it has taken them so long to build a feminist front of sorts, tends to tell me they have nothing and are banding together to get money out of a guy they think has lost his public edge.
So you ignored post 23 and continued with your lie.
It seems you have judged and everyone is lying about being drugged, raped or assaulted, but Cosby.
Thank you for your well-thought out posts on this thread. Your balance and objectivity add a lot to the discussion.
I understand your reaction based on what the reporter printed. Just remember, he did not issue a ‘public statement’ as implied by the article. He made a comment to this, clearly hostile, reporter. I would not put a high amount of credibility on what she reported.
They are seeking to draw Cosby into a discussion so that they can air a new round of ‘indignant’ attacks.
The litigants desperately need something ‘fresh’ so that they can initiate legal action. Because all of these claims are so long in the tooth that they cannot initiate criminal or civil actions based on them.
They need any Cosby comment so that they can sue for defamation, etc.
The democrats are seeking to distract from their massive election losses and reognite their base.
They are seeking to inflame blacks, hispanics, women, and gays.
Ergo, the ferguson case et al for the blacks
Imigration reform for the hispanics.
False rape claims for the women - Dunham, Rolling Stones, Cosby
Etc. etc. etc.
“Having served on criminal juries, I simply refuse to judge and try people based upon what the entertainment media says, be it Nancy Grace or Wolf Blitzer or etc.”
I don’t ever watch either of these morons, so I don’t know how to respond except to say that I have formed my current opinion based on what the actual victims have said publicly, and some of the corroborating stories from those were involved with Cosby at the time the alleged acts occurred. I think that Cosby is simply a Black Bill Clinton. I just wish that one of the victims had some DNA on a dress.
