Defying his party's leadership, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz upended plans for smooth passage of a $1.1-trillion spending bill, forcing a rare Saturday session as Congress braces to prevent a new threatened government shutdown..
Cruz launched the Senate into turmoil as he tried to use the government shutdown as leverage to stop President Obama's immigration plans.
Now, Congress faces a midnight Saturday deadline to keep federal operations running.
Senators were streaming into the Capitol on a sunny winter Saturday for a series of procedural votes, with many not happy about the situation.
"I remind everyone, 12 o'clock midnight, 12 a.m., the United States government tonight runs out of money," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said as he opened the chamber.
The Senate chaplain used the morning prayer to ask for God's help empowering senators "to make their decisions after weighing them on the scale of long-term consequences."(continued)
The sudden turn of events hit Congress as lawmakers had largely agreed to move forward with funding the government and begin wrapping up their work before the holidays.

Lies, lies and more damn MSM lies.
Every day I think about how glorious it would be to have a speaker like Allen West or Mark Levin.

If Ted Cruz and his followers can keep passing 3-day continuing resolutions until the end of the year, the newly elected Republican-controlled Congress can then decide in January what to do about next year’s budget, based on the voters’ pro-conservative, anti-Obama mandates.
Just a few more 3-day CRs, and Harry will probably not be able to keep himself from leaving for home, and if Nancy and the rest of the Congressional Democrats along with the RINO Republicans, who don’t really care what happens about much of anything, follow suit, then Ted and his Conservative colleagues can remain in the Congressional chambers, guarding the country and passing CRs, and all will be well.

The reason why Harry speaks in a whisper is because, like Gollum, his soul is deformed.
BO may have been too clever for his own good there. By not signing an Executive Order BO has handed the Federal Courts the opportunity to say "We do not have to decide whether the President can impose amnesty via an Executive Order, because the President has not issued an Executive Order. But we rule that the President cannot impose amnesty via anything less than an Executive Order."
“Im for Ukraine entire”
HAHA!! Good one Comrade!
The last thing you do is argue for Ukraine.
Russians are taking cities and Ukrainian land and you spread propoganda about Ukrainians fighting in their own cities. I guess in a Russian’s world people fighting for their own country against a tyranny are ‘marauders’.
And Russia needs to push Ukraine to be ‘Neutral’? Are you kidding?
My thought exactly. Run the game into overtime up to the new majority taking over. You nailed it. Wonder where ol’ Turtlesoup is right now, westbound or eastbound?
Ted Cruz is in charge for now. Hope McConnell marches into the Senate & wags a scolding finger at him. Will be fun to watch.
Cruz Control in 2016!
What happened to Warren? Wasn't she against the bill too?

Took out by a Cruz missile.
Until Ukraine’s Governance is according to the US standards of operation Ukraine will not succeed as it is currently, which is why Americans are filling positions to handle the fininacial affairs and the distribution of funds.
Even with the US assiting and handling affairs the corroption continues,.....further it is said now ‘by Ukraine officials’ that deeply rooted corruption is far more serious to Ukraine than Russia....so your’re arguement is based on the actual conditions in Ukraine.
.....so yourre arguement is NOT based on the actual conditions in Ukraine.
Overthrowing a tyrant, or taking your country back from Russia IS according to US standards.
You can talk about corruption all you want. Throwing off the Russian shackles is priority #1.
‘it is said now’....no it’s not. nobody would say that unless your a Russian posting on an American website in a feeble attempt to sway opinion.
