Down and Out - Democratic Party losses as state level almost unprecedented - crippling
Slate ^ | December 11, 2014 | Jamelle Bouie, covers politics, policy and race

The Democratic Party’s losses at the state level are almost unprecedented, and could cripple it for a long time to come.

"........With that said, there are more costs to Democratic weakness in the states than just House elections. States are where parties build talent and try new ideas. Here, the GOP is instructive. Its brightest stars are either governors (Scott Walker, John Kasich, and Chris Christie) or former state officeholders (Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Joni Ernst). And Republican-controlled statehouses have been incubators for conservative ideas, from experiments in tax cutting (Bobby Jindal’s Louisiana and Sam Brownback’s Kansas) to full-fledged assaults on public-sector unions (Walker’s Wisconsin and Christie’s New Jersey). In all likelihood, the next Republican president will either come from the states, or will borrow his approach from the present generation of GOP governors. Likewise, if Democrats win the White House for a third term, they’ll face opposition from Congress and empowered Republican majorities at the state level. Indeed, if not for statehouse Republicans, the Affordable Care Act would be a smoother project, with broader buy-in for exchanges and the Medicaid expansion.

Democrats might have strong national prospects in the form of Hillary Clinton, but they have little to look to in the states. Only a few places stand as incubators for progressive strategies and ideas, and nationwide, Democrats have close to nothing in the way of a bench for federal and statewide office. The liberal counterparts to Walker, Christie, Brownback, and Mike Pence—ideologically motivated governors with national profiles—don’t exist. And as a result, liberals can’t point to a forward-looking agenda that exists outside the bounds of the presidency......"

Same mindset that got us President Clinton, when Ross Perot won....it will always split the conservative vote and give the Democrats the election....just saying, I remember it and all the arguments....still lost.

“Same mindset that got us President Clinton, when Ross Perot won”

I don’t think you can elect a third-party president either. But I do think you have to do what’s being done right now, salting the GOP with Conservatives to the point where you effect party control. That’s my third party approach.

“Conservatism is incubating in the states and the Dems have nothing like it.”

Big and obvious hint: CONSERVATIVES ATTENTION!!!!

Your political base and subsequent power lies in the states. Learn how to use it and start a thousand brushfires. When the federal fascists extinguish one fire, start 10 more. They have neither the logistics nor the manpower to take on 25 rebellious states.

If you need a blueprint, the Founders left us two called Committees of Safety and the Declaration of Independence. One logically leads to the other.

“However, Obama is trying a risk-all gamble that blanket amnesty will renew the party by giving it x million new voters.”

While turning off X million legal voters, including American Hispanics. Looks like one hand washes the other, resulting in a zero sum game.

If the DIMocRATs are “down and out”, they must be continually kicked until they no longer hold any position of responsibility or authority. They are malignant in our civilization. Ever last cell must be gone.

Or until illegals start voting, in a year or two.

It’s the STATES!!

Yes.

Yes. And SARAH pointed this out long ago - and this is what she's been busy at for 4 years! Seeking out and getting the right people elected in the states.

She's been much more effective unfettered by running for/holding public office.

Now - we need to make sure Madame 'What Difference does it make" get's put out to pasture and we get the WH in 2016.

Then, long before the libTards ever get a foot in the door again, Dingy Harry and Peelface and the like will also be gone...and the evil forces that have been running amok for the past 20 years will be history as well.

The most dangerous time is the next 2 years - getting through it without them pulling a wag-the-dog incident giving the excuse for declaring M. Law. (Of course, if the do, it won't go as easy as they think. America is awake and armed-up. Stock your cupboard.)

That may be true. But the other impact is lowering job availability across the board, damaging our already bad education system further, and exposing everybody to diseases we thought were beaten long ago. Everybody who is not an elite political type loses something.

“F them until the cows come home.”

Instead of F this and F that, consider getting involved locally and running Rat bastards out of your town and county governments. Lord knows we’re infested with these fascists and commies in our local schoolboards and governments. Organize. Attack. Run them out of your neighborhoods.

I’m not the one who didn’t vote. Everything I state is based on what current leaders do and say. If we can get conservative leadership we can get what we would like to see done. If not we’re gonna get more of what the Boner’s and McCains and Grahams and Lotts have done, are doing, and will continue to do. And they want to wipe out conservatives far more than democrats, mby their past and current statements and actions.

“GOP gains at the state and local level have been astounding. But until you change leadership in Washington, those gains mean little.”

Are you kidding me? Can anyone look beyond Washington politics as the be all and end all of political power? 700,000 federal fascist apes cannot control 100 million patriots at the state and local levels. Can we please stop being so bloody myopic by refusing to see the political power we hold in the states.

“..I wonder how far this will fly?”

Pretty far, with the Progressive media repeating it
ad-nauseum and a large part of the electorate loving the Progressive propaganda.

IMHO

“If the DIMocRATs are “down and out”, they must be continually kicked until they no longer hold any position of responsibility or authority.”

Exactly. Drag these rats into dark parking lots with no witnesses around and read them the riot act. Elect a pro-2nd Amendment, Constitutional sheriff in your counties to provide armed muscle to confront federal fascist goons. The Rat party is in a state of fear and confusion. Let’s take advantage of that.

“the communists infesting their bureaucracies and universities (particularly law schools),”

K-12 too. All part of the plan. My grandson, going to public school (2nd grade) in CA, told me that corporations are the problem in this country.

Completely agree.Time for state residents to step forward en masse and demand that their governors keep these disease-ridden illegals out of their states. The health of their children depend on it.
