Rush: Cromnibus Designed to 'Eliminate the Tea Party'
breitbart.com ^ | 12/12/14

Posted on 12/12/2014 11:44:37 AM PST by cotton1706

Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh railed against provisions in the cromnibus that relaxed campaign finance rules on Friday, saying that it was designed to "basically eliminate [the Tea Party] as a viable threat," and "how corporate America is going to defeat the Tea Party."

He explained "that campaign finance stuff...I'm going to tell you exactly what that is...the limits have practically been obliterated which means that corporate donors can just start giving left and right."

Limbaugh continued "This is how corporate America is going to defeat the Tea Party. By allowing limitless donations from that crowd under the rubric that its campaign finance and money is speech and freedom of speech and 1st Amendment, the theory is that Main Street, Tea Party people can't come close to competing with corporate money and so it is a Republican Establishment ploy that kind of dovetails nicely with Obama siccing the IRS on the Tea Party to basically eliminate them as a viable threat by relaxing a regulation in Dodd-Frank that pretty much permits corporations to spend any kind of money they want on politics."

Earlier, he declared "our Speaker of the House [got] in bed with Obama and advances the Obama agenda, takes care of it, amnesty, Obamacare, fully funded, done deal, the election must not have mattered."

Cromnibus, Cronybus, Romneybus – all “routes” lead to Rome (i.e. D.C.)

The courts are only going to do what the establishment (both parties) want. Everybody is waiting on the courts to take care of Obamacare. It is a good way to deflect that responsibility from the republican congress.

“The courts are only going to do what the establishment (both parties) want.”

No, the courts have their own interests as well, and they are not going to voluntarily give up power any more than any other branch of the government would. Self-preservation dictates that they will strike this nonsense down. I might be wrong, but we’ll see.

If it happens I’d be a happy camper. I had hopes at one time that the Libertarian Party would replace the GOP. I could live with that.

I am not trying to pick a fight either.

My goal is to see that a Constitutional Republic can once again flower across America.

Do you see something I’m missing?

Thomas Jefferson was prescient when he stated, "The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield, and government to gain ground."

Year after year we watch as our once great Republic is being destroyed right before our eyes. Since Reagan, there has not been any serious effort to limit the size and scope of government.

The only certainty is that the GOP and the RATs will do nothing to truly restore our Republic. One solution is an Article V convention, as Mark Levin discusses quite frequently.

The other is some unforeseen event that compels millions of citizens for the first time to truly yearn for a new outlet for their political frustrations. People want to feel that their vote matters, people want to feel that there is hope that things can improve.

I feel sometime in 2015 a new movement will arise and cause people's hope to be restored. A true white knight billionaire could kick-start a party and a process that can make a real difference. Time will tell.

Again, I believe the GOP is incapable of any reform or takeover. It is a party that should be politically destroyed and replaced by a true party of Liberty and limited government.

The GOP stands in opposition of our efforts to defeat and politically destroy the evil Left.

“Same thing was said of the unconstitutional ObamaCare, so we ain’t buying that line of crap anymore”

Hmm, so you lose one court case (during the same period that we won many more than we lost on other important issues), and you just dismiss the courts? Yeah, that really sounds sensible. Not.

The courts are already treating this much more seriously than they did Obamacare, and the evidence of that is that the very first judge that got an opportunity to do so put an injunction on amnesty. That never happened with Obamacare, despite many judges having an opportunity. So, already, Obama is fighting an uphill battle in the courts.

Now who is talking fantasy? There’s already an injunction stopping any implementation of that, and it will never get past the courts, so that is pretty much the end of the story on Obama’s amnesty.

LOL Fantasy is the belief that some injunction will stop Obama. You can't be that naive??

100% Amnesty (over the next 10 years) for upwards 50M illegal criminal invaders will most likely happen -- the Left and GOPe wants this.

Do you think some injunction will stop that??? Dream on.

“Fantasy is the belief that some injunction will stop Obama.”

It’s already stopped him. He can’t do anything until all of the court battles are over, and he is almost guaranteed to lose those, so it’s likely this injunction is the end of it.

His plan was to implement this quickly, before the new congress was seated, and absolutely before 2016. That hope has evaporated.

“100% Amnesty (over the next 10 years) for upwards 50M illegal criminal invaders will most likely happen — the Left and GOPe wants this.

Do you think some injunction will stop that??? Dream on.”

Whether or not they can get a different form of amnesty passed at some other time is another story. It might happen, but it’s a lot less likely to happen through Congress because it is such political poison to vote for. This particular amnesty plan? For all intents and purposes, it’s dead Jim.

Rush is right. I heard the monologue and it is too painful to read. Rush used the word “misdirection” and that can be used to categorize the excuse about “government shutdown” and wanting to “clear the decks”. Boehner is repugnant, ghoulish.

Would prefer it not be a done deal and that leaves me siding with RATs

Actually, Boehner would prefer it not be a done deal. Then he could pass a CR (which would not have passed initially by the House or Senate but may have to be passed now) and save the omnibus for the next Congress. Dems are now in a box.

They are shooting themselves in the foot if they reject this deal...making it worse for them in the New Year. Which is why Obama wants this deal. But if it crashes, so much the better for Boehner.

I don't believe it will take that much. I think people are seriously underestimating the level of discontent, and overestimating the unlikelihood of a new party emerging. I think part of it is normalcy bias, and the rest is deliberate disinformation.

I would go so far as to predict that there is at least a 20% of the following happening. If a couple dozen prominent conservatives were to peel off, and form a new party, that party would grow more rapidly than UKIP. Within a few years, the democrat party would have shrunk (there are large numbers of disaffected democrats, who would flock to a conservative-less Republican party), the Republican party would have shrunk (the gains from democrats more than offset by the grassroots republicans leaving), and the USIP would be within 5-10 points of those two parties (roughly, a 20/20/15 split, nationally). Contrary to the scaremongers, the Democrats would not dominate this new landscape, even over the short run. Nor, unfortunately, would the Republicans just go away. Over the next few years, however, USIP would continue to grow, as they would be able to project a consistent, positive message, and would be able to expose the Republicans and Democrats for what they are (much like UKIP has done). Within 10 years, I predict we would be the dominant political party.

Or we can just vote for the lesser of two evils. Either way is good.

Given that amnesty (whatever it is ultimately called) is supported by the Republican party leadership (and, of course, their money spigot), the Democrat party, and the president, I don't believe it is the height of fantasy to presuppose that it may occur in the next five years. We whacked one mole. But, unfortunately, the mole that is amnesty will simply keep popping up. It is not over. Not by a long shot.

I always thought the best shot is to have a great number of elected Conservatives in the GOP leave en mass to a new party. We could pick a date, July 4, 2015. They could leave and make a very bold statement for Liberty.

Bold action must taken to save our Republic. Two things must happen to save our Republic. The first, destroy the GOPe politically and second destroy the evil Left politically.

In the age of the Internet it should be easier to create a new party and get people to move to it.

Something has to happen - the GOP and the RAT party has ZERO interest in rolling back government.

“Hmm, so you lose one court case “

You think we lost ONE court case?? Where have you been? We’ve lost many. And that ONE court case was extremely important. The government an now tax you for NOT doing or buying something. The government now controls all medical care.

I guess if someone gets shot in the head you’ll just say, “Well, are you really going to complain about one bullet?? Just one??”

The reality is that a new party is inevitable. I predict within a year a big movement will arise to a new vigorous party arise to destroy these evil Statists that infest our government.

Call it the Anti-Statist Party. Name and mission statement all rolled together.

No thanks.

For such a birth to happen in such a time frame, lot of pain would be required, way more than I want to endure.

Let's say the courts rule Obamacare unconstitutional and must be thrown out.

What will happen is the GOPe and the RATs will make some minor tweak, call it something else and lo and behold nothing changes.

Do you honestly think the 100's of thousands of Obamacare bureaucrats that infest the government will be terminated?

Seriously, outside of war efforts I can't recall any big government bureaucracy that has been eliminated.

Short of a total economic and societal collapse, nothing will remove the bureaucracy put in place to implement Obamacare.

I’m not going to get sidetracked into a discussion of whether Obamacare can be rolled back or not.

If we all thought like you, the country would have collapsed after Marbury vs. Madison. Bad court decisions have been with us since the very start.
