Rep. Steve King took his crusade to block President Obamas executive action on immigration to The Steve Deace Show last night, where the Iowa congressman urged House Republicans to thwart immigration reform even if it results in a government shutdown.
Lets throw out the fact that we have a Marxist in the White House and our very way of life is at stake, Deace explained, could an argument be made that a smart political move is to actually have a showdown with the president right now?

The people would have twenty-three months to forget, presumably, but I would like it rather that they remember that we would have the courage, and I wish they dont think it takes a lot, to stand on principle, he said. When the president violates his oath of office, its ever more incumbent upon the rest of us to stand up to our oath.

Just close the government.
Who is going to the National Parks anyway...
GOP in house just passed budget bill for Obama!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought there wouldn’t be a ‘govt shutdown’ since they would then pass a short term bill.
King is wrong. We won’t forget. And we will REWARD those who shut it down!!!
The house just voted for this 1.1 Trillion dollar cluster.... The Republicans supposedly dragged the Dems over the finish line.
No it was republicans that changed their vote!!!!!!!
The son Pat Robertson never had...
He’s absolutely right.
Remember the 2013 “shutdown” (of 17 percent of the government — a good start)? We were told that the Republicans had just doomed their chances of taking the Senate and almost certainly lost the House as well. How did that work out?
Let it shut down.
I don’t believe the Republicans passed this because they are afraid of government shut down being their fault. I never have. They are just as corrupt as the Dems. They love extortion and the gravy train and some kind of perceived power. May they be charged with treason. America can do without them just fine. Instead of taking any oaths; let them be led away in handcuffs. This is not what the people voted for.
Plus the fact that any day the government bureaucracy cannot work is a good day for everyone
Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.[Posted on 11/19/2013 12:16:51 PM by Third Person]
