I think it’s just a “H.Res.” sort of thing, not a law and not going to be considered by the senate. It’s merely a “sense of the House” statement. It has less force of law than renaming a post office.

McCain, said he expects that the Senate will pass this. However, I still do not know what this resolution means. If you google it, you find a lot of WWIII websites.

I think it puts us much closer to war against Russia.

Unless we can turn Russia around then war is inevitable. The Russians recently held a conference of Russian-speaking people in Europe and one of the big things they say they came away from the conference with was that Russian speaking people in the Baltic countries want to be reunited with Russia.

That means the Russians are laying the groundwork to invade Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia and they're using the same tactic that they used to justify invading Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and etc.

The Baltic countries are NATO partners and if the Russians invade it will mean war. Even if the US chickens out the Poles have sworn that they'll fight.

Better that we scare the Russians now instead of having to evict them from Europe like we should have done in 1945.

We had a defense pact with Ukraine. But a defense pact is only effective if your adversary believes you have the stones to back to up.

With Ukraine, it is too late for us the start chest beating. The Russians clearly do not consider Obama a serious person and obviously have no respect for congress.

I think you are right. I doubt this resolution scares them much. I almost feel like they are antagonizing us.

No one considers obama as an effective President. This incompetent “president” will have no problem testing the resolve of Russia at the blood of our nation.

Returning the Crimea is a non-starter for Russia. Nope. NO. Nyet.

“Iti Kachortu,” and “Yobt toviou matt,” Yankee.

After that there is nothing. The US can do nothing. Nothing. Attacking Russian forces with conventional forces invites a nuclear response as per the current Russian policy. First nuclear response by attacking party warrants homeland nuclear response.

In other words, if you attack them with conventional forces, they will use tactical nukes on them. If you respond with your own tactical nuke on their forces, they will nuke your homeland. That’s the policy - take any misgivings up with them.

Russia can only be stopped by non-military means - bankruptcy through very low oil prices would be a good start.

He’s done nothing but punish us since taking office. I honestly believe he’d like to complete our penance by getting a bunch of Americans killed.

I honestly don’t know why we are opposing Russia at the moment.

We have a far bigger problem now with China, which will run YET ANOTHER NEW record trade surplus against America this year.

Bring back American jobs, to the USA.

We resolve..........

Same as saying we think or we think you should think....lol

This is not law, nor can it give authority.

It’s just a opinion.

They’re not trying to antagonize us, they’re trying to intimidate us. And the leftists in this country will surely cave in to that kind of thing and they’ll argue that we shouldn’t support our allies if it means war. And just like in the 1930’s the aversion to war will directly cause a war.

The Russians are taking it seriously. It is belligerent.
On the other hand there is a lot of ambiguous language in it as well.

I disagree.

Our biggest problem is we have sent all of America’s business to China, which is now making everything.

Bring it all back to America.

Better that kind of toughness as allies than enemies.

The Senate won't be taking up H.Res. 758. It might take up something similar, because the Senate like to express its sense too.

Link to Text of H.Res.758, along with a remark that "This simple resolution was agreed to on December 4, 2014. That is the end of the legislative process for a simple resolution."
