This has not made it into the national press yet, but this is being considered. Wow! Gerald Celente said that the makings of WWIII started last year. He could be right. It will be over fast. Fire all the nukes and in an hour we are all screwed.

The primary threat of the Soviet (now Russian) intermediate range missiles was intimidation of Europe. If we match Russia’s missiles with ours, we simply restore the balance. WWIII didn’t happen back in the 80’s and it won’t happen now.

Coming at a time various powers are repatriating their gold.

Wonder if a side effect of missile placement is a subtle gold message as well.

I remember when the Pershing IIs were withdrawn from Europe in the latter half of 1980 and all of the nuclear artillery shells a couple of years later.

They should have NEVER destroyed those Pershing II IRBMs...They could drop a warhead into a vodka shot glass.

I’m pretty sure the Pentagon can’t do this on their own say so. It would require some approval from various government entities (ours and from Europe).

Did the missiles themselves get demolished, or just de-warheaded and stored?

Hydrogen bomb warheads have fairly short shelf lives, a few years, because of the rapid deterioration of the tritium that helps give them their bang. As long as nobody lost the plans for how to make new ones...

I just bet our fearless pissadent will not go along with this, as soon as his leader tells him what to do or say about it.

Everything on the Pershing II is gone. Warheads recycled at Pantex plant in late 90s. Only Inert museum missile left that can’t be launched again sit at a few museums.

Warheads would have to be replaced in any case, unless they were pure fusion bombs.

As for the rest of the rockets, that is only rocket science. Could probably do it a lot better today.

Never trust the stupidity of two socialists/commies itching for a fight. Putin vs Obama scares me.

Seriously considered? Or is it being put into people's lists of five options knowing darn well the first and last are always thrown out right away to focus on the middle three? Take a serious look at the list if nuclear deployment was put at number five to make item four the "reasonable" alternative.

Swell. With this bunch in charge I’m sure that rollout will be just as successful as the one for Obamacare.

NATO is the banker oligarch’s marcher lord and the bankers need the BRICS economic development initiative killed, hence all this sh*t storm over Ukraine, needed as a launch pad for ICBM’s. The bankers also face huge losses in public confidence as YouTube videos such as “The Money Masters” The Money Masters

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dq9yjt_JbWs

go viral. This challenge to the power they wield over sovereign nation states is making them nervous enough to bring the whole enchilada down around our ears. WWIII is not a scare mongers wet dream, it’s a straight up oligarch agenda ticket. Where is the Tea Party on this?!

This assume our leader has testicles. More sanctions would be more likely.

Heh. Didn’t think of it that way, but I suspect both militaries would restrain either one from letting things get out of control.
