Sen. Ted Cruz: 'Torture is Wrong. Unambiguously. Period. The End.'
Breitbart ^ | December 10, 2014 | Charlie Spiering

Texas Senator Ted Cruz is reminding Americans that no civilized nation should ever torture prisoners.

“Torture is wrong, unambiguously. Period. The end. Civilized nations do not engage in torture and Congress has rightly acted to make absolutely clear that the United States will not engage in torture,” Cruz said during the Q-and-A portion of a speech at the Heritage Foundation.

I’ll tell you what seems silly to me; that so many people in this thread lack the comprehension skills to understand the word “wrong” or to understand that torture as a national policy will cost American lives. Not in this conflict of course, because we’re dealing with terrorists already ; but in some future engagement when we lose allies, or the political will to continue. Ted Cruz is correct in his statement, fictional scenarios notwithstanding.

If you are unwilling to fight at the level of your enemies ... you will lose.

Hook the red wire to the positive terminal.

Hood the black wire to the negative terminal.

Oh, and wet his testicles before you hook him up.

Maybe of Congress had tortured Gruber, he would’ve told the truth about Obamacare before it was passed.

Funny we know about this event but Bin Laden’s post mortem photos have never been released.

We know about this event because Senator Sanctimony from California, from her delusional moral high ground, decided to make a public spectacle with information that never should have seen the light of day. And I'm sure she had some help and encouragement.

And the congressional intel overseers were informed of the enhanced interrogation as it was planned and utilized years ago.

The crux of the issue is how torture is defined and who defines it.

I like to stake out two ends of the spectrum and see if people generally agree.

At one end is a comfortable bed, uninterrupted sleep, and no alarm clock: Not Torture.

At the other end is being hung from a beam by your wrists which are tied behind your back while you are beaten with a rubber truncheon and have electric shocks delivered to your genitals as red hot metal pokers are held against your bare skin: Torture.

The key is where the line is drawn between Not Torture and Torture.

One might think it is like pornography: you can’t define it, but you know it when you see it, but...that doesn’t work.

You don’t need to ask Carl Levin what he and his fellow liberals think is torture: We already know they think torture is being forced to strip naked and make a human pyramid with other prisoners.

No kidding! Imagine, God forbid, someone you love being held by those animals. You’re told that getting rough is the only thing left, but you refuse it because oh, it’s just wrong.

From Marlboro men to pajama boys....

Liberals have, as usual, tortured the definition of a word to mean whatever liberals want it to mean. Cruz should have followed up with a “and that is why the united states does not use torture.”

It is but that is not the relevant question. The relevant question is whether we are going down that slippery slope. And the answer is no.

Hugh the Scot, you are correct. No torture, it is beneath us as Americans to behave in such a way.
