‘Rick Perry in 2016’ building momentum
Austin American Statesmen ^ | December 10, 2014 | Chuck Lindell

"....A recent 90-minute interview with the Washington Post paid off with a Wednesday front-page story headlined, “New image, renewed ambition for Perry,” that was sprinkled with details about Perry’s preparations for a presidential run that the outgoing governor says isn’t yet a sure thing.

“This Perry comes across as studious, contemplative and humble,” wrote Philip Rucker, national political reporter for the Post. “He said he is at peace with his 2012 presidential campaign, in which his shoot-first-aim-later approach proved catastrophic, but is hungry to redeem himself.”

Coinciding with the story, Texans for Rick Perry released a stylized, three-minute video touting Perry’s economic legacy after 14 years in office. The video, punctuated by dramatic orchestral music and sweeping Texas vistas, is the same production being shown during seven dinners giving Perry a chance to personally pitch affluent Republican donors — the people who could make or break a second run for the White House."....

Well said. There are liberal fans here that support the illegal lover La Raza Ricky and do not even try to hide it.

Cruz is it. Accept no RINO substitutes or Democrat ringers.

The TNG weren’t armed and they were sent to observe.

If a candidate supports abortion, the candidate is liberal.

If the candidate supports amnesty, the candidate is liberal.

If the candidate supports socialized medicine, the candidate is liberal.

If the candidate supports bigger government, the candidate is liberal.

Can you provide any documentary proof that Perry supports abortion? Or that he supports socialized medicine? Or that he supports bigger government?

As far as "amnesty", the closest he comes on that score was his ill-considered desire to grant in-state tuition to illegal students. Not something I liked, but a far cry from "amnesty".

You can certainly disagree with Perry on specific issues - I know I do. And you could honestly believe he would not make a good president. But I don't think anyone with a brain could honestly consider him "liberal".

well, that’s great that he is getting up to date on all the issues. But what I really hope is that he has been taking debate classes these past few years. You can know all the information in the world but if you are not able to communicate, it’s useless.

The problem is that they are Republicans and I have vowed that I will never vote for another one.

NOt ever.

They have to change Party to get MY vote.

Forever and ever.

He's a damn liberal.

He loves bigger government. His cheerleading for the Trans-Texas corridor, to be owned by a Spanish company prove that.

Perry advocated teen-age girls (my daughters at the time) to get vaccinated against an STD.

He was publicly for Dewhurst (the GOP-E favorite) over Cruz for Senate. He was also for Dewhurst (the GOP-E favorite) over Abbott for Governor.

Dewhurst lost.

So will Perry. I won't vote for that liberal bastard.

Oh, hell no. Perry is not a liberal.

He's just dumb as a fence post with a soft spot for criminal aliens.

On ALL other issues he's nearly correct.

He is liberal. I will work hard on the ground to keep him from winning, just like I did with the GOP-E preferred candidates he endorsed.

Nominate him and Hillary is president.

TF, it was all show. Perry waited until the summer desert heat to put them there. The traffic already slowed down due to the heat. Then he pulls them out, just in time for a flood coming across in cooler weather. It was a show, a political move. I may be “heartless,” but I will never vote for Perry.

Big Texas donors are not waiting on Jeb, at least not the ones I know and I know more than one.

I could not stand Rick Perry until I met him in person. He’d make a great president.

Then you vote for him. I damn sure won't in the primary or the general election.

He's a liberal, I don't care how likeable he is.

It isn’t about “helping the ticket”. It’s about no more RINOs. I’d never vote for her.

Please don't take this personally.

George Bush ....Rick Perry has had some gaffes to be sure, but he has also amassed a record of success as an executive in Texas which stacks up well against pretty much anyone else in the nation. Can the public look past the repeating media themes about him as some sort of bumbling, forgetful, Mr. Magoo character? I’m not saying that Bush Perry will be – or even should be – the nominee, but relegating him to the dustbin of political history over a few on stage flubs seems to be a waste of tremendous potential.

Any of this sound vaguely familiar to anyone else?

Anyone got a dust-pan?

Anyone who calls that commie bitch Hillary Clinton a “Great Secretary of State” as the illegal lover La Raza Rickee did, is no conservative.

Rick Perry is the same liberal loser he has always been. It doesn’t surprise me his same liberal followers continue to defend him. Thankfully, the pro-amnesty turd will never get near the White House.

True. There are liberal FReepers whose idea of "conservatism" is nanny-state executive orders and pro-ILLEGAL alien legislation. They, like their liberal hero Perry, are what is wrong with the Republican Party.
