Senate finds CIA brutalized terror suspects for little intelligence gain
McClatchy DC ^ | Dec 9 , 2014 | Jonathan S. Landay and Marisa Taylor

Posted on 12/09/2014 11:18:36 AM PST by LeoWindhorse

The CIA’s use of torture failed to gain any intelligence on imminent terrorist threats, didn’t lead to any high-level terrorists – including Osama bin Laden – produced fabricated information and was far more brutal than the agency has portrayed to policymakers and the public, according to a long-awaited Senate report released Tuesday.

As if those who murder innocent people by beheading them will be outraged at the way captured terrorists are treated?

We may, somewhat understandably, defend these actions. But here’s the problem...

What do we do when, because of legal precedent, these tactics are used on us?

We may, sometime soon, be seen as enemies of the state - because we don’t support gay marriage or whatever else they have coming down the pipeline.

Yes, because there is nothing that serves America in releasing the report and it is also greatly made up by the Democrats in power who do not want the facts that it helped us revealed.

Landay has a history of hating the intel and defense industry, as well as hating anything Bush.

Can’t believe Valerie Plame is all over MSNBC over this. It seems obvious that she was New Tork Times’ unnamed source aka LEAKER.....who was dishing dirt about Bush...& the Joe Wilson op-ed was meant to provide cover for the Times & their “fair-game” political operative/CIA leaker.

As far as the Senate report is concerned, claiming torture is always ineffective is crazy and FALSE. Democrats believed that going in & have clung to their dogma.....but many types of torture are very reliable...as every child knows! Suppose your brother hides something of yours & you want him to give it back. So you twist his arm behind his back & threaten to break it until he reveals where he hid your stuff....& finally, he confesses to where he hid your stuff & you find it exactly where he confessed to hiding it. In that case, torture clearly is a proven success!
The ONLY place where torture does not work is when you torture a criminal confession out of somebody & its the ONLY evidence you have. In cases such as this, a coerced confession is unreliable & inadmissable. But this is the example Democrats & their lawyers always use-—the ONE case where torture doesn’t work & we admit it!
Police use a form of “torture” every day to get people to cooperate to give them information by which to convict criminals. They might drop criminal charges against a person if they turn state’s evidence & use their testimony as means to gather more evidence against a criminal, beyond just the testimomy, eg, a secretary who knows where her boss’ embezzled cash is hidden for police to get a search warrant & find it as evidence.
Democrats brag about killing Osama bin Laden who never was arrested or charged with a crime and never got lawyers or due process! And Democrats haven’t come down on Obama for his drone de-capitation strikes which sometimes kill innocent people & mete out capital punishment without a fair trial.——so I’m not really sure what great principles the Democrats & Valerie Plame are talking about. You could have KILLED bin Laden and his top generals...but you couldn’t torture them?
Democrats voted for war in Iraq & Afghanistan and prisonners of war were part of the war. They can’t really wash their own hands of the whole thing just because of their partisan political investigation into “torture”!!!!!

Does anyone else think it is no coincidence that Senate democrats release their torture report the same day as Gruber is testifying about all the lies told to pass 0bamacare? Despicable.

Media going NUTS over this, and it’s mostly old news.

all to cover up for the Gruber Confession Hearing, which is FAR MORE DAMAGING to the Democrats.

I don’t think we needed to know all of this, and certainly what the CIA does or does not do, some should be our business, but if it gets information on keeping AMERICA and those serving to protect AMERICA then I say: ‘DO WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO!!!”

When the interrogators were done questioning, the prisoners should have been shot dead.

They are liars.

Khalid Sheikh Muhammed divulged that there was a courier which later led to the killing of Osama Bid Laden.

That is just one MAJOR piece of intel they got.

Talking points should read ‘I guess democrats did not want to catch Osama bin Laden’. Then explain why. The guy who cross about catching him is against the single action that lead to his captured.

What legal precedents were there for the Holocaust? For the Holodomor? These people did what they wanted and manufactured the paperwork for it. Anyone who resisted was killed. Lawyers like to pump up the importance of their profession. But the reality is that everywhere the Germans or the Japanese won, they slaughtered people, not because some lawyer found loopholes making it legal, but because the leaders decided what they were going to do and the lawyers rubber stamped it with a laundry list of legal verbiage.

When the movie "Zero Dark Thirty" came out Dems were on defense because the movie showed that interrogations helped in Bin Laden's capture.

They were arguing that the courier item did not help that much. HA!
