BEFORE President George W. Bush left office, a group of conservatives lobbied the White House to grant pardons to the officials who had planned and authorized the United States torture program. My organization, the American Civil Liberties Union, found the proposal repugnant. Along with eight other human rights groups, we sent a letter to Mr. Bush arguing that granting pardons would undermine the rule of law and prevent Americans from learning what had been done in their names.

I haven’t read the report yet but let me guess, there’s not much illegality in it so that’s why this guy wants the pardon? So they don’t have to argue specifics and just point to the optics. Is that about it?

So the Democrats have been holding this under the table to spring on the innocent public in the event they were massacred at the ballot box for their over reach. To be expected, but now we will have to put up with one lie after another, after another while the Leftist Democrats beat up the name of Republicans leading up to the 2016 elections.
Their goal of course is to sour the electorate on the name “Republican” just like they did the name “Bush” leading up to the election in 2006. Tried, and true tactic of the Democrats.
