Greg Gilbert of Lovettsville, Va., built a basement bunker for his 700 bottles of bourbon. He also joined a private club so he could bypass retailers and buy barrels straight from distillers.

There is no such thing as a shortage for a given commodity. There is only a shortage for a commodity at a given
price.
Sadly, for us bourbon drinkers, this means we will have to cough up a few extra bucks. I have to go out now and stock up on some Woodford Reserve.

Looking for advice: I inherited some prewar scotch from my dad.
A Haig & Haig Pinch and a ceramic jug of Red Hackle. Both are unopened. I know it doesn’t age after bottling, and I know these were not the premium scotches of the day. Would like to find a value. Would rather sell them to put a kid through school than drink.
Any ideas? Please be nice!

OTOH, the money grubbers in Frankfort are no different than the money grubbers in every other state capitol. They think our bourbon is just another cash cow. Tax, Tax, Tax.
