Republicans set to relaunch Obamacare attack in new year

Republicans are ramping up for a fresh fight against Obamacare in the new year, banking on Democratic support to repeal a key component of the law.

Republicans have slowed their anti-Obamacare drumbeat in recent months, with their success in the midterm elections, President Obama’s executive action on immigration, government funding and end-of-year business dominating the GOP agenda.

But come early 2015, Republicans will restart their push to repeal the 2.3 percent tax on medical devices that kicked in last year as part of the Affordable Care Act. And with the GOP controlling both chambers of Congress in January — and with several Democrats also calling for an end to the tax — Republicans believe such a move can be a meaningful first step in dismantling Obamacare.

The [Republican] agenda for next year will likely have low-hanging fruit — the low-hanging bipartisan issues that Republicans can begin to rack up successes in both House and Senate. And one of the first pieces will be the Medical Device Repeal Act,” said Ron Bonjean, a Republican strategist.

The GOP is in charge of the House now, not in January.

The House can stop this nonsense.

You should address your grievance to House Appropriations regarding the Omnibus Bill.

No, it is not up to them to do anything of the sort.

They can defund anything they want to anytime they want to, but they hide behind whining about being blamed for shutting down the government, as if that matters at all, as an excuse to not wield the power that they have constituionally.

If they will not impeach and they will not defund, then they have rendered themselves utterly useless on purpose.

We do not need 967 votes to repeal Obamacare again, because everyone knows that’s kabuki theater and absolutely meaningless.

What we need is for them to end the damned thing right now along with a bunch of other crap this government is currently engaged in.

I would have never opened Gitmo. I would however opened the worlds largest prison somewhere in the Indian Ocean.

Heck Johnny, those quisling Repukes are probably going to be slamming in the “CROmnibus” tommorow night: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2014/12/07/Exclusive-House-GOP-Leaders-Trick-216-House-Republicans-Into-Accidentally-Supporting-Obama-s-Executive-Amnesty (see bottom, if you can get past the rest of the travesty therein)

My friends don't want to make rules for me to give the liberal bastards in congress a chance.

And I guess I'm that guy, huh?

Whatever, see you in the forum...

You should address your grievance to House Appropriations regarding the Omnibus Bill.

They know how I feel about that.

I have a better idea.

I will work to politically destroy liberal republicans. Even if it means in the general election.

If there are no more liberal republicans, this crap can't happen.

Johnny, the GOP electorate owns every state house from Texas to the Outer Banks.

Calm down. Politics is a tough ride. This CR will pass and work will begin in January.

Lame Duck is just that and you have more than made that aware to FReepers across the globe.

It’s good politics to “Sell the sizzle not the steak” as advertisers put it.
But they won’t give even a tough grisly steak- just a few stale rolls.

With a few riders next year on the EPA, Health, Immigration, etc they could cheaply placate conservatives enough to survive.

Big difference between Conservatives and a liberal Republican.

Texas had a liberal republican that was the GOP-E favorite for Senator from Texas. He lost. And then he was the GOP-E favorite for Governor. And he lost.

I'm all about getting rid of liberal republicans.

I'll calm down when I'm good and ready. You don't get to make those rules for other people.

Don't expect me to be nice about it, either.

Well, apparently you and Boehner have that in common.

Rules?

Did you have your nap today?

Straighten up your room as well. I don’t care for a disorganized child being alone on Free Republic.

Of course I had a nap today. So did my grandchildren.

You can lay off your attitude.

I won't let anyone that excuses bad behavior (like what the GOP is doing) set any rules for me, ever.

I will continue to work to politically destroy liberal republicans even in the general election.

The only politics I am interested in anymore is complete and total honesty.

I am so sick of the lies my country has become.

No offense, but given the current rino/gop-e leadership,

I do not believe a single word of it.

It is the same status quo kabuki theater from the rino/gop-ers in charge, who have ZERO desire to change the current mess because all they want is to be in charge of the current mess. They don’t mind things the way they are. They like them just fine.

You live in a nation of rules. (Law)

Your disregard for such puts you right in the middle of anarchy. You get over anxious and speak of outcomes with no volume.

I like you but don’t be stupid with your emotion. We all live in these times. They must be dealt with the same science
that has brought us here.

Big difference, bucko. You don't get to set those rules for anyone. Especially when it comes to politics.

I've worked hard getting rid of liberal republicans, and I'll continue that work. And I won't cut the liberal republicans or those that support them any slack at all.

Nice isn't part of it.
