I am behind the times. S & W buy T/C Arms?
Correct information about this would be appreciated.

Battenfeld designs and distributes hunting and shooting accessories, such as targets, gun-cleaning equipment and gunstocks, under brand names including Wheeler Engineering, Caldwell and Fajen..
Good grief.
I am not a reporter, have no part in news distribution and not likely to ever be, but.
I think the above facts might have been included as the second most important point in the report, or in the excerpt half the length of the one given.

This isn't something that I would have expected (making it sort of like The Spanish Inquisition). The justification seems a tad thin, especially when "hunting" is not exactly S&W's reason for existing to begin with (and their acquisition of the hunting-centric T/C has been
uhh
"interesting"). Maybe the big downturn in the long arm business has made the S&W honchos lose their collective marbles.

I think it was a son of Potterfield who branched off into Battenfeld.

Yes, I knew for a fact the Midway owned Fajen stocks.

Thanks for the info, I didn’t know that.
I got out of the firearms magazines for while and I fell seriously behind in which companies were operating, new intros and such.
Thanks again.

Maybe Larry Potterfield, the founder of MidwayUSA, is going into a full retirement. Selling Battenfeld brings the son, Russell, back to Midway to take the top job.

I was blindsided by the T/C Arms acquisition. My T/C Contender G2 builds were all pistol configs. I purchased a rifle barrel from a 3rd party and needed stocks. Ooops. Scarce as hen's teeth. That's when I learned about the acquisition. EABCO (E. Arthur Brown) is one source of stocks and barrels. They have had spotty success in getting receivers. Matchgrademachine and Bullberry are also reputable suppliers.
The current website for TC Arms is at this link. The new prices for components are MUCH higher than when I was last in the market.

I am worse off, I only want the original Contender pistol frames and barrels.
Should I just end it now and save myself the frustration? /sarc

I wanted a Contender frame. I found one for sale with the 10" 30-30 barrel. That's a painful config. No less painful than the .308 15" Encore. Keep looking. They are fun rigs.
