Landrieu: C'mon, My Fellow Democrat's Pro-Voter Fraud Advice Was Just 'a Joke'

Sen. Mary Landrieu has finally weighed in on the caught-on-tape call from a Louisiana Democratic official for supporters to commit voter fraud by casting more than one ballot in last month's election. You'll be relieved to know that she's reviewed the tape and has come to the conclusion that her (refreshingly candid!) chief of staff's father was just kidding. A local NBC affiliate addressed the controversy -- be sure to stay tuned for the decidedly un-amused reaction from average voters, and pardon the technical difficulties when the station attempts to playback Don Cravins Sr's problematic remarks:

Sen Landrieu: It was in a bar room. It was, you know, on a stage. People were having a good time. It seemed to me to be a joke."

Question for Mary: Was your chief of staff also joking when he promised that you'd keep on voting with Obama 97 percent of the time if re-elected? He said so in that same bar room, where people were having a good time. Was that whole election eve rally just a big comedy show? For what it's worth, the elder Cravins now insists he was just joshin' around, rather than, you know, telling people to vote twice while assuring them that they'd avoid prosecution for doing so because of the Democratic District Attorney's lax stance on voter fraud. snip

For good measure, Cravins also attacks Black Conservatives Fund for noticing his comments. How dare they? If you watched all the way to the end of the first clip, you'd see Landrieu comparing herself to Saints quarterback Drew Brees, warning voters against replacing her with clueless rookie Bill Cassidy (a mere medical doctor and Congressman). The problem for Landrieu is that Brees is both good at his job and quite popular in Louisiana, among other key distinctions. Oh, and Brees sure sounds like...a Republican.

Videos at link. So Landrieu's handlers were hanging out in bar getting sh!tfaced when they were "joking about voter fraud. Well, the drunken man says what the sober man thinks. Or as the Italians say In vino, veritas And how dare "uppity Negroes" like State Sen Elbert Guillroy tell Landrieu's daddy and her corrupt staffers about themselves.

Election fraud truly is a family tradition among the southern aristocrat dems.

Landrieu: C'mon, My Fellow Democrat's Pro-Voter Fraud Advice Was Just 'a Joke'

I've become somewhat addicted to the Dateline crime stories that are available on YouTube.

In some of them, the cops get an audio tape of the murderer either soliciting the murder, or (in one case I watched recently) actually coordinating the murder with an accomplice in real time via text messaging.

In every case, when these recordings are played at trial, the defense claims it was all just a joke, and anyone who knew their client would know this.

The actual murderer simply misunderstood the joke, and took it all too literally.

It never, never works, by the way. The jury always sends them off to jail for the rest of their days.

If you are right that will be one the the biggest margins of defeat for an incumbent. There was another thread on FR
that showed the top 10 margins of defeat for an incumbent senator ever since the direct election of senators.

The problem with him claim is that if you watch the tape it doesn’t sound like he is joking.

The first time he says go out and vote twice, some in the audience laugh. So that could be a joke.

But, then he urges them to vote twice again and that time he sounds sincere. No one laughed.

Of course it was a joke.

She doesn't have the walking around money to put it in effect.

Sen Landrieu: It was in a bar room. It was, you know, on a stage. People were having a good time. It seemed to me to be a joke.

These are not (actual) jokes by Dem officials, only joke situations used to convey political instruction.

Plausible deniability denied.

It’s not funny when people constantly flout the law. Talk about poor taste. Although I’m convinced it wasn’t a joke. I don’t know what time period these people think we live in. You can’t blatantly lie and then lie about your lie anymore without someone capturing it on his iPhone.

Finally the Southern-Fried Kennedys (aka Landrieus) will be gone (at least from national politics).
