THE SEXODUS, PART 1: THE MEN GIVING UP ON WOMEN AND CHECKING OUT OF SOCIETY

"My generation of boys is f****d," says Rupert, a young German video game enthusiast I've been getting to know over the past few months. "Marriage is dead. Divorce means you're screwed for life. Women have given up on monogamy, which makes them uninteresting to us for any serious relationship or raising a family. That's just the way it is. Even if we take the risk, chances are the kids won't be ours. In France, we even have to pay for the kids a wife has through adulterous affairs. "In school, boys are screwed over time and again. Schools are engineered for women. In the US, they force-feed boys Ritalin like Skittles to shut them up. And while girls are favoured to fulfil quotas, men are slipping into distant second place.

Amen. I’ve been saying this for years, but it’s rare for any Christians to really care about it. Either they don’t want to seem “unhip”, or they want the convenience of abandoning a marriage freely themselves.

They are more concerned about gay mockery of marriage than the fact that marriage no longer exists in our society in any recognizable form.

I remember some years ago, my hubby (of nearly 34 years) told me about a group of men he worked with complaining about their wives/girlfriends. He said to them, “you guys are lucky you found anyone to marry you”.

“He is only attracted to girls 20 to 30 years younger than he is”

I’m the opposite. Only attracted to women near my own age. Really younger ones are completely uninteresting to me, namely because they know so little they in fact are simply uninteresting people.

“Men have no need or respect for women:”

Well, as for not needing women, that is almost correct. Men only actually need women for one thing, and that is to bear our children. We can get anything else we might need through other means, or we can live without them. Perhaps not blissfully, but one can survive.

Women need men for a lot more reasons than men need women, and that is key to why a lot of men have decided to “opt out”. It’s the one action that feminists have no possible response to (except ridicule, which is ineffective). They can’t force men to marry and support women, and once enough men go this route, women will be forced to make concessions to our demands, as they cannot survive if men abandon them en masse.

Respect? Respect is earned. I respect women that earn it, but I don’t give it away freely because people demand it.

My wife and I got married in our mid-20s (to each other, yes) and have been married for over 20 years now.

My wife has been told, by two different women in my old college/post-college social circle, that they hate her because THEY intended to land me. But in our early 30s after they “had a little fun first”. Instead my wife unfairly landed me about five years early. By the time they got their itches scratched, the market for nice guys (I’m not perfect by any strech of the imagination, but I do try to be a decent and attentive husband, father and human being) had pretty much dried up.

Not that I would have allowed myself to be landed by them under such circumstances.

Sorry, this isn’t a romance novel. You can’t count on love when times get hard, when the money runs out, or when your looks fade. You need commitment to keep people together through that. We no longer have any means to ensure commitment in this society.

I wouldn’t consider myself red-neck, but I am Texan.
It was amazing how being a female engineer and married with kids was somehow a contradiction to feminists I worked with.
I moved over the IT and ran into it in a different vein. Refusing to work 60-80 hours a week has slowed my career, but work-life balance that feminists say we should have shouldn’t require that to be able to earn a living.
My male bosses, for the most part, had no issue with “I’m home, don’t call me” or “I’ll support your 4 AM outage if I can work from home”. Female bosses were in general more likely to push travel, demand odd hours, criticize me for not going out for drinks after lunch - when I don’t drink alcohol and had kids to pick up from daycare.
I’ve worked for one stereotypical sexist jerk boss, one floppy guy, one nice older guy, two demanding women who had less sympathy and support for a woman with kids than the guys.

Remember the days after 9/11 when the women of NYC lined up to cheer the men working on the site at shift change? Women brought food and praise to those brave workers.

Those days are coming back for us females and we are going to want and need good men to survive. I only hope some good Christian men are still around.

“You know what, something worthwhile has always been obtainable from God.”

I’ve got no beef with God. I love God.

Yet, God doesn’t care if I am married or not, in fact it’s preferable to Him that I’m chaste. If society wants me to get married and toe that line, then I need to see that there is some worthwhile reason for me to do so.

“If you go hunting around in “world” you are going to find the “world” variety of person. If it is “godly” you want then go where “godly” people go.”

Surely, but you’re still taking a leap of faith with anyone, no matter how godly they seem. I can’t see into their souls or predict the future. So I want assurances of commitment which simply don’t exist in this society anymore. Until they do, I can’t see why the risk is worthwhile.

Love is supposed to MEAN commitment. By defininq love out of existence we’re left with a loveless, commitmentless, meaninqless existence.

That’s what happens when man makes God in his own imaqe.

The only way out of this is the real God - who is the Giver of REAL love. The One who willinqly died for those who cursed Him and nailed Him to a tree.

You do?

God cares yet. “Be fruitful and multiply” was never rescinded; and as this society suicides itself in a twisted liberal “celibacy” born not even of mission but of frustration, it is a godly thing to illustrate the right way to do things when you can.

You can X-ray a soul pretty good over a fair period of time by seeing how they react to some pretty basic theological matters, not just as academic questions, but in how they live their lives. It requires paying attention, however. Something that many are not willing to do today.

If Christ is there today, Christ will also be there tomorrow.

““Be fruitful and multiply” was never rescinded;”

Oh, come on. Haven’t you read the New Testament? God regards the chaste as holier than the married. Marriage is God’s concession to us to save us from falling prey to our lusts. You’re not going to guilt trip me into marriage by claiming that God demands it of me.

Well, of course bring on here you would say that, however I live in the socialist utopia of Maryland just south of DC. Women here get offended if you tell them they look good.

Most are ultra liberals, leaning towards fascist.

What gets me is they claim to be Christian and in the same breath they announce they are a democrat and support all the DNC positions.

So, I no longer even try.

As “holier”? Quote even a single verse that says this.

Or as a different mode of holiness with its own privileges and responsibilities?

A valid case can be made for a particular person to embrace the single role when it is obvious that the Lord is pressing this upon the person. It is a cop out otherwise.
