Spoke with a lady yesterday whose husband will pay 12 grand for obamacare not counting the deductibles and co-pay.

I’m discouraged, because I’m not seeing these huge increases being widely reported. All I see are reports that health care costs are going down and increases are in the single digits in most cases.

Those mainly affected now are in the individual private market. The employer mandate, effective Jan. 1, will affect millions more. I know business owners who cannot afford to continue to cover their employees.

So maybe the hue and cry is yet to come - but I still doubt we’ll see much coverage of it. The DBM seems to be collaborating on an Obamacare news blackout.

I just hope ticked off people call their Senators and Congresspersons and demand accountability and change.

qualify for a heavy subsidy or Medicaid

If you live in a state that did not set up its own exchange, that heavy subsidy could be pulled right out from under you if the SCOTUS rules as they should - that the subsidies in states that don't have exchanges are illegal.

If that happens, the number of uninsured that will result will dwarf the number of uninsured before this monstrosity was enacted.

Those people will not be able to afford $6,000-$12,000/year for coverage.

Anyone else remember a thread a few weeks back about how HHS has said they would start reenrolling people into lower cost plans if they chose the automatic reenroll option?

A cheaper plan = worse coverage. What a great idea.

How about Congress using the proper authority of the Commerce Clause and letting me buy insurance across state lines?

How about Congress using the proper authority of the Commerce Clause then having actual costs of service publicized?

How about Congress using the proper authority of the Commerce Clause allowing me to buy only catastrophic care and self-insure?

The solution is getting back to the Constitution, not further away from it.

Yup, and it's completely illegal to do so without enrollee consent.

But, of course what does the law mean to the lawless...

To my mind, Obama, Reid and Pelosi’s attack on the national infrastructure of our healthcare and support system was tantamount to a sneak attack. I’m thinking Lusitania, Pearl Harbor, the World Trade Center.....

Absolutely treacherous.

To their twisted minds that would be a compliment; a sign of success. They hate America and they want to destroy it and rebuild it in their own image.

Cordially,

I've been a bit puzzled by this as well. I can only guess that employees will finally realize the impact on them in the upcoming weeks as their employers get settled on their 2015 group plans details.

As for those of us in the private insurance market, some of my friends (the conservative ones who actually buy insurance) have gotten increases, but are pretty much just sucking it up and hoping things get better next year. Liberal friends still don't buy their own insurance, so are still oblivious to the whole thing. The tax penalty for them this year won't be very high, so they think all is well for them.

I’m sure there is tremendous WH pressure on the DBM not to report anything negative about this. How many days went by before there was any acknowledgement in the DBM of the Gruber quotes, if it was covered at all?

Got to collect enough premiums to cover all the illegal aliens. And who didn’t know Obama was going to give them amnesty? If George Bush had had his way Obama wouldn’t have had to grant them amnesty.

They'll start reporting it all next year... and somehow tie it to Republicans' control of Congress... and most liberals will buy that argument. The Dems are experts at blame-shifting.

The astronomical deductibles are the same as having no insurance.

Obamacare is a joke.

I’m not trying to justify Obamacare, but when you have a $100,000 hospital stay (not uncommon if surgery is involved), the $6500 deductible I had WAS NOT like having no insurance.

Please look into one of the religious insurance alternatives. They are a far better alternative to 0bamacare.

The President promised if we like our health insurance, we can keep it.

How could we keep it? Obama needed to steal it so he could give it to his supporters - for free.

Obama’s true promise: When I break it, you can keep the pieces.

that is NOT the vast majority of cases.

We are talking about minor issues that go untreated because it is 100% pay. That can be anticipated and a cost benefit be done.

(s)Besides Obama’s death panels will just kill anyone with a procedure more expensive than 6500(/s)

I challenge them to provide ONE example of a person or family that had an insurance policy prior to this fiasco

that now, because of Obamacare, has a “better” policy for less money.

Criteria:
1) They previously were insured.
For the new policy:
2) Premiums must be lower.
3) More stuff is covered.
4) More doctors and facilities are available in their new plan.
5) Deductibles are lower
6) Co-pays are lower.

I would put my entire net worth on it that they can’t find ONE.
