On Monday, Attorney General Eric Holder kicked off the first of a series of community forums on Ferguson at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta on Monday night.
Holder suggested to the activists that US police are an “occupying force.”
“The problems we must confront are not only in Ferguson. The issues raised in Missouri are not unique in that state or to that small city. We are dealing with concerns that are truly national is scope and have threatened the entire nation. Broadly speaking without mutual understanding between citizens whose rights must be respected and law enforcement officers who make tremendous often unheralded sacrifices every day to preserve public safety. Without that kind of interaction without that kind of trust there can be no meaningful progress. Our police officers cannot be, and cannot be seen as an occupying force disconnected from their communities that they serve.”
He can’t leave office soon enough.

Agree ....its already being pushed on the dollar variable .......my county is turning fed money away and is cautious where state cash stands. We have a very good department that treats FLEA’s as just another cartel to keep in front of em.

Obama said in 2008 he wanted a as strong as the military.. Homeland security, IIRC.. After the Patriot Act, I think the police are integrally working with local police. I actually agree with Holder on this one.

The solution is simple: Announce a date of withdrawal of police forces from ‘communities of color,’ much as what Obama did in Iraq. Otherwise, create a policy in which only black officers respond to black communities. When the people have to wait hours for a responding black officer, tough.
It's funny that he should say that. His boss said that as part of his fergidishu plan that he would NOT stop the transference of military gear to local cops.
I suggest Obama and Holder are occupying fools.

How about a “social expirement”? Put a huge fence around the entire city of Furgeson (its small enough to control), let no one in or out and then remove ALL police from within the citys boundries. How long do you anticipate the city will last?
They did that experiment. It was in the Superdome during Katrina.
Well, the elitists armed up the boys in blue with surplus military equipment, and then the boys in blue used that equipment AGAINST the elitists and their useful idiot army. That scared the socks off the leftists, knowing that that military equipment could and would be used them. The elitists wanted that hardware used against patriots. Oops!
