Were they worried she would lose the black vote? This makes no sense because it will cost her 2 white votes for every extra black vote.
I had a similar experience in Germany, only the doctor’s staff didn’t want the socialist losers in the waiting room see my wife and I come in and go out while thay waited. Cash is still King...and anyone who cannot fathom that is going to have a hard life. It is sad...but I laugh at them because anytime you try to explain Econ 101 to them they call you a fascist or some such!
