MTP: Rich Lowry's Inconvenient Ferguson Truths Cause Panelist Outrage

Eeek! How dare he?!

National Review editor Rich Lowry actually committed the "heresy" of citing the evidence presented to the Ferguson case grand jury on Meet The Press today. Such evidence is rarely cited by liberal circles because it confirms the account given by police officer Darren Wilson. Lowry's flagrant disregard of avoiding the inconvenient truths caused quite a reaction from Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post who was left sputtering in reply and from Andrea Mitchell who entertained the audience with her body language outrage.

Eugene Robinson: 'Poor communities want policing.'

Yes, the fine folks of Ferguson have really welcomed the increased presence of the police with open arms. It was great seeing the picnic tables piled high with food and the lemonade and coffee they set out. Before they started rioting and burning (including police cars) I mean. Hugs all round!

'You'll find the most law-and-order oriented people you can ever find in low-income communities.'

Bully for them! This means Snitches Get Stitches is a actually a reference to needlepoint!

'They want policing that's done WITH the community rather than TO the community.'

Well, when the COMMUNITY (synonymous with commune in the ivory-tower world of Gene Robinson) is involved with home and car break-ins, public drunkenness, and, above all, drug use & trafficking, exactly how do the police get involved without immediately and comprehensively violating their remit? Buy a baggie or two? Fence some flat-panel TVs in another precinct? Drink a 40?

If the Feds try for a "civil rights" trial, those "witnesses" can't change their story, or they could be prosecuted for perjury.

"Could be" and "will be" are two different things. Eric Holder is going to try a black person for purjury in this case? I wouldn't bet on it.
