In Defense of Evil
Taki's Magazine ^ | November 21,n2014 | Gavin McInnes

Posted on 11/29/2014 11:20:19 AM PST by Tom D.

I was talking to a Jehovah’s Witness the other day and found out their idea of heaven is the same utopia that liberals are trying to force us into. There is no conflict in Jehovah’s afterlife—just a bunch of twentysomethings having picnics with lions and bears, and maybe a dinosaur or two walking around. It’s Earth without any of the bad stuff.

That sounds like hell. I asked him if there was boxing in this magical place. He thought for a second and said: “Only if they have no animosity in their hearts.”

What’s so bad about animosity? That’s how you win.

30+ years ago my wife and I did some bible studies with some JW’s, and attended one of their big gatherings. We exited that group when I rrealized they were just a recreation of the following Star Trek episode:

Great success and accomplishments usually result as a result of overcoming great challenges. Our American predecessors tamed a hostile continent. Had they been protected by a federal nanny state we’d still all be huddled along the east coast. All those nasty wild animals, misunderstood Indians, unbridged rivers, “unsafe” modes of travel. Lots of icky stuff.
Challenges and struggle results in growth.

War also has a net benefit as long as the good guys (in other words Conservatives) triumph. Much of today's technology emerged from war such as research done by DARPA. Innovation is a useful by-product of war.

I love this article.

Applying it to politics, this is why we can’t be purist losers. This is why we have to exert our conservative will through the political system as it actually exists. The political system as it actually exists doesn’t care about ideological purity, but rather is impure and mean. We need to be tough meanies, not pure weenies, if we want to win. If we want conservatism to win we have to play the game by the rules of the game as they actually exist better than the other guys.

On top of that, communism was tried in America at Jamestown (1607-1611) with disastrous consequences (starvation to the point of cannibalism).

But at least it gave birth to capitalism, which saved the day...and worked like a charm to this very day.

Along with Gordon Gekko, I used to believe that.

I would amend that to say that "ambition and competition are good."

Evil, struggle, pain, and suffering are wonderful things when they happen to somebody else. I’m sure Mr. McInnes has come up in life the hard way, in a vicious struggle for survival.

Amen to that.

I had some JWs come to my door when I was stationed in Germany pushing the utopian world as a perfect park. I told them that was stupid. Where were people supposed to live and how would they make a living? They stood dumbfounded for a couple of minutes and went away shaking their heads.

I worked for one once and he was the stingiest bastard I ever saw. No interest in their liberal claptrap. Ask them what happened to the 144000. That’s always fun...

No one knows what heaven is like. We don’t know what the spiritual nature of man is like in heaven nor what his intellect and activity may be. We just know everything changes, including us. We are no longer fallen, contained in flesh. Lucifer is not there. The Trinity is there.
