If Not Now, When?

Posted on 11/28/2014 3:03:54 AM PST by Jacquerie

Conservatives are not split as to whether or not Obama and his ministers have committed high crimes.

We are split over what to do about it. There is no question Obama has gathered arbitrary powers within the executive branch to make, ignore, modify congressional statutes at his whim. His administrative agencies, a shadow army of lawgivers whose identities (sans Gruber) are kept quiet and out of public view, issue dozens of unconstitutional and imperial diktats every year.

OTOH, what is certain is that impeachment of American presidents is unfortunately an historic rarity.

Taken all together, impeachment is largely viewed as a losing proposition, because despite his clear guilt, it is assumed no rat senators will cross over to convict. Modern party discipline, especially among rats, combined with the Obama news cycle is enough to instill outright terror in the hearts of those who fear doing the right thing. By this theory, impeachment will only strengthen the rats at the expense of the GOP.

So what? To be concerned with the health of either party is to lose sight of the objective, turning back tyranny and restoring freedom. The real issue that conservatives should ponder is which alternative, impeachment or no, best serves republican freedom, our freedom.

What are the downwind ramifications of letting Obama and his ministers get away once again? Amnesty is merely the last in a long list of Obama high crimes which began right away in 2009.

Is he to have two more unchallenged years?

The lickspittles in the MSM will ask Republicans about impeachment in order to discourage the GOP base and enrage the donkey Obamabots - any time that question comes up, Republican politicians need to turn that question to the Democrats: “It’s clear that Obama has violated his oath in his actions on immigration, but a vote on impeachment will just divide the country until the Democrats acknowledge that fact, since the Senate would just vote down any action. As soon as some Democrat senators cease defending this illegality and call for impeachment, we’ll oblige them; as long as they insist on putting party before country, impeachment is just an empty gesture. If you media people want an answer to this question, go talk to the Democrats in the Senate.”

Here’s the thing. As conservatives we look at the issue as law. Obama broke it therefore he needs to be brought up on charges of high crimes and misdemeanors, be impeached and removed from office.

But it is Washington and politics trumps law, much to our consternation. So what do we do as Americans and what should congress do as our representatives? This is my thought.

We cannot just put Obama in a box. We need to also put the MSM in a box ane the way to do this is every bill must be 1-2 pages long, be put up on the congressional web site, with a presser to the American people letting them know that.

Start with immigration. 1 page. Call it the Border Scurity Bill. Stipulate in it, no future immigration policies or funding will be addressed until the bill is signed into law, executed and completed. Declare just like the rats, you want an up or down vote. Put the rats on record.

What we want to accomplish is 1) putting rats on record. 2) give Americans the ability to make their own decisions based on simple facts and 3) take the pen out of the MSM’s hand. By making everything simple, the MSM is forced to tell the truth, because they are no longer in a position to discuss complexity and promote the agenda without coming off as cheerleaders of the regime.

Plus, any rat dissension becomes campaign commercials which are run the day after the vote. Sample 30 second commercial would look like this. “Yesterday, Senator Schumer voted NOT to close the border. Senator Schumer wants illegals to come to America to take American jobs. Send Senator Schumer a message by voting for his opponent in 2016.”

It’s simple, truthful and powerful. No more games. It’s time to destroy the rats by taking away their message and delivery system.

That you did.

I cited from other historical sources.

We did good.

I'm neck deep into Cato's Letters. Some of what I've learned is showing up in FR posts.

I neglected to consider that 21st century “good,” implies robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I agree these would be useful and good things to do.

But they are tactics, skirmishes in a battle. The big picture is to take away from government the unconstitutional tools it uses to wage war against America and Americans.

This means significantly “downsizing” the power of the president; reorganizing the judiciary, hopefully purging many radical federal judges in the process; slashing the size and power of the federal bureaucracy; and using a conservative congress to erase over a hundred years of progressivism.

A peaceful revolution.

Yeah, I fell to FR pressure and voted in the mid-terms.

It appears we've been Charlie Browned, again.

I notified Marco Rubio the GOP is on probation. If it fails to respond to our just demands to stop Obama, I think your prediction will come true.

Absent real push-back, I know I will stay home in 2016, and suspect most the conservative base will do the same.

In that case, study spanish, and say adios to a failed party and republic.

Tactically, the Republicans should keep their mouths shut and not do anything until they are seated. Obama and his demonic minions still have the powers to do many bad things.

Be patient. You did the right thing. Staying home instead of voting is cowardice. Do what you can do.
