I like mayo just can’t stand the taste of Miracle Whip. Awhile back I was in Arkansas visiting family and we had our usual family get together at a local park. Everyone brings food and it is a pig out. I filled my plate up and took a big bite of potato salad and started gagging and spitting. Who in their right mind makes potato salad with Miracle Whip?!?! lol

Miracle Whip has a higher vinegar content and lower oil content. IIRC it was a Depression era answer to the more expensive mayonnaise. My family ate nothing else, being frugal. Later I could afford better, but there’s nothing like being able to appreciate both kinds of “salad dressing.” In fact it took a while before mayonnaise appealed to me.
