Clinton was evil.
He sold a small child to a Communist dictatorship on the pretense of respecting parental rights.
For that alone, he deserves to roast in hell.

Ah yes, I refer to this sad incident as the last latino that democrats wanted deported.

Never mind the communist doctrine of “abolition of the family”. Thanks, GOP-e, for failing to impeach and convict.

The child’s freedom and human rights didn’t matter to the President and his Attorney General.
So they abducted him at gunpoint and shipped him off to Cuba.
I felt ashamed of being an American. One of the few times in my life I felt disgust for my country.

They call that a rescue? It looked more like a government kidnapping.
Reno said the Father had the right to his child and in a way I agree. All he had to do is come to Florida and be with him.

With any luck, Elian will soon be able to put his education to use in a free Cuba. The place is going to need some smart folks to rehabilitate it after 55+ years of the Castro brothers.

Looks like they made the boy into a one man Potemkin village. Castro himself would come on his birthdays.

That was another path off the cliff, almost designed to make Clinton look like he was the defender of traditional families, another GOP suicide mission.

Gonzalez is studying industrial engineeringGood for him. I'm not sure how well his education will be put to use in Cuba, but perhaps he will design, manage and oversee efficiencies elsewhere.
We can only hope.

Holder was there when Elian Gonzales was handed over during Janet Reno stint as Attorney General.

When communism collapsed in Eastern Europe - there was a confident, democratic, free-market USA on hand to help the newly free countries.
When communism collapses in Cuba, what help can they expect from the lethargic, one-party-ruled, socialist basket-case known as Amerexico?

I think back on that time and what you said pretty much sums up the way I felt at the time too.

Same with Eric Holder. For some reason, even then I knew Holder would turn up again like a bad penny.

"I felt ashamed of being an American. One of the few times in my life I felt disgust for my country."I know exactly what you mean. But let's put it in proper perspective. The shame was misplaced, as it belonged to the feckless illegitimate political leaders who allowed that travesty of justice to occur. Knowing of your years of contributing to the discussions on FR I know that you are a true patriot of America, your country. The disgust you felt at that time was for the misuse of the tool of government for diabolical purposes.
