Jay Nixon promises more National Guard troops in Ferguson tonight (and Sharpton promises more war)

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon said Wednesday that more National Guard troops would be in the St. Louis area on the second night after a grand jury decided not to indict Darren Wilson for killing Michael Brown.

"The violence we saw last night in areas of Ferguson is unacceptable," Nixon said.

MSNBC host Al Sharpton slammed Wednesday the prosecution's handling of the grand jury. "I've never seen a prosecutor hold a press conference to discredit the victim," he said during a Brown family press conference.

"Before you think this is over, remember what happened in Rodney King," he said, vowing not to give up in the face of a defeat in the legal system.

“I’ve never seen a prosecutor hold a press conference to discredit the victim,”

And you still haven’t. Prosecutor did not discredit Wilson, because he knows the facts justify Wilson’s actions.

I understand the pressure of grievance mongering.

But there are risks when the authorities make a great show of protecting only the PD and FD and let private property burn:

That diminishes peoples’ sense of private property rights, and that cuts into incentive.

Africa is FULL of healthy, smart people, but after The General’s men arrive in a truck and cart off your goods enough times, a complete defense for next time is simply to HAVE NOTHING.

Africa is FULL of people who have freely made that very destructive and logical choice.

If the property rights of Da Gummint are secure and that of the people are transient, then soon everyone has nothing.

And this guy is employed by a cable news <- (in gigantic air quotes) network?

Amazes me how this buffoon can be allowed to stir the pot like he is.
Yes, I believe in free speech but it comes to mind what would the reaction be if say Fox (when it was FOX) had hired David Duke as an on air contributor with free rein to spout off at will.

I realize that probably isn’t anything ‘we’ can do about MSNBC etal as they are part of the package but how many people would it take to say they were going to cancel ALL cable as long as MSNBC were on its ‘schedule’

Like those stations that used to take up space on XM - after getting thrown off broadcast network for lack of audience...they were ‘safe’ on XM because it was part of the package.

Would have been interesting to see how long ‘Air America’(?) would have lasted had XM declared it a ‘premium channel’.

The media never showed any sympathy towards the rancher Bundy for protecting his own property and wanted to be left alone against the abusive government. He damaged no property, he hurt nooone, but he was labelled a terrorists

ATF is pretty good at burning up actual people that defy them. Maybe Ferguson should call them. Oh wait!......those people were white.

From what I’ve heard on FNC it was the administration’s suggestion the NG stand down.

That figures.

If Gov. Nixon has sent in the MOANG into Ferguson, 1) what Rules of Engagement were they given and 2) were they given LIVE ammunition? Want to really give the rioters, looters, arsonists, and thugs pause? Order them to be shot on sight.
