More National Guard Troops Ordered Into Ferguson
NBC NEWS ^ | November 25th 2014 | — Erin McClam and Tracy Jarrett

Gov. Jay Nixon of Missouri ordered more National Guard troops into the embattled city of Ferguson on Tuesday to keep order on the second night after a grand jury decided not to indict a white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black teenager.

“The violence we saw in areas of Ferguson last night is unacceptable,” the governor said in a statement. He pledged to work for the protection of lives and property and said more details would be released later.

On Monday night, at least 12 buildings were burned, police reported looting, and gunfire broke out repeatedly. More than 80 people were arrested in Ferguson and nearby St. Louis. The civil unrest followed the grand jury’s decision not to charge Officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed 18-year-old Michael Brown on Aug. 9.

Ha. I’ve imagined it as well. My neighborhood is possible, but my block? Nope. I own that. No chance.

How many nights of this criminality is going to go on until the police put a firm stop to it?

So you are unwilling to ask at the source, but are willing to defer to a third party? What were you saying about “news,” again?

Here we go again! Same song second verse. Nothing changes but the rhetoric and blame.

Change the rules of engagement. Issue shoot to kill order for looters, arsonists, and snipers. Extreme but effective in keeping protesters from looting and destroying property.

What happened to the k-9 and water cannon guys. I thought they were always on standby in case protesters overrun the police or police needed to breakup a protest in a hurry.

I’m surprised someone hasn’t set up a canteen or break stations where protesters and policeman can rest and get coffee and donuts while they watch the town burn down around them.

I don't know what the present doctrine for training Guardsmen is, but it is not the same as for MPs who could do the policing function.

What I was trained for in the Guard was to maim or kill the enemy through overwhelming military force. Our crowd control method was by clearing the streets and byways by an echelon of bayonets, with loaded weapons.

The purpose of the National Guard is not to police, it is to put down an armed uprising and impose a tight curfew, with a show of force.

Unless you want a Kent State, you do not want to call in and deploy the National Guard without good cause. The result would be fearsome, IMHO.

I am unwilling to ask at the source? Sorry don't follow.

Still waiting to hear your tried and trusted "news" sources. The ones you don't ridicule out of the gate? Maybe CNN? Perhaps, Reuters? Maybe you fly in and do your own investigations and interviews? Or have your own sources? Now that would be something.

Because if even a single one of them was of the caucasian persuasion, every LEO within a hundred miles would have been given direct orders to shoot them on sight. That's why.

And that's also the reason why the NG wasn't deployed. Holder's and obama’s peeps are still a protected species.

Ferguson case is nothing but distraction to immigration executive order

I don't believe any of the "black conservatives". If such leaders existed, they'd be having a protest, all right. They'd have angry blacks applying for jobs and demanding as US citizens they get precedence over non-citizens. Instead they're doing stuff that makes them unemployable and unproductive, a drain on society.

Blacks are being replaced by Hispanics in the US. They're protesting to protect the characteristics that make them undesirable to employers.

I believe that fiddling is called for, in such circumstances.

Democrats don’t really know about such things until they read about them the next day in the newspaper or on the interweb. It’s implausible “plausible deniability”.

That's not what the news reports are saying. That was true last time but this time it's mostly locals.

“The violence we saw in areas of Ferguson last night is unacceptable,”

Seriously? I think the heavily armored paramilitary just standing around watching was unacceptable. So we need more uniforms to stand around, yeah that’ll help.

It almost looked like they were protecting the looters sometimes. A whole block on fire and they’re talking Call of Duty or whatever.

>>Why weren’t business owners out at their business armed to the teeth (before the verdict) like the Koreans were during the Rodney King riots?<<<

That was my question as well. I was hoping the gun shots heard were business owners protecting their businesses but no word about what they were.
