American voters are divided on whether President Barack Obama should take action to address the immigration issue if Congress fails to act, as 45 percent say the president should issue an executive order while 48 percent say he should not, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today.
At the same time, support for immigrants is at its lowest level ever measured by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll. Offered three choices on what to do about illegal immigrants: | |

There is a wide gender gap on Obama's action, as women support it 50 - 39 percent, while men oppose it 57 - 39 percent. Support is 59 - 33 percent among voters 18 to 29 years old, but drops among older voters, with voters over 65 years old opposed 53 - 36 percent. |

And no surprise here:
Democrats support Obama’s immigration move 74 - 18 percent, with opposition at 75 - 20 percent among Republicans and 51 - 40 percent among independent voters.
Ah...there's the gotcha. Try asking: "Should Obama subvert the Constitution and bypass Congress by using Executive Order to change immigration laws?" I'll bet the outcome would be much different.
It is probably about the same split as those who think Justice would have been Darren Wilson being sent to a firing squad.
After seeing the reaction of people in other cities outside of Ferguson then I lost even more faith in the citizens of the human race. Quite frankly at least half of them are dumber than a box of rocks. They live breath and react without any common sense at all. So maybe it is true that half of them don’t have the sense necessary for this country to survive.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Obamas constitutionally indefensible immigration policy is not a matter of public opinion. Even if the Constitutions Article V state majority was unanimously supportive of Obamas immigraton policy, since the states have never delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate immigration imo, it remains that the states would need to quit sitting on their hands and amend the Constitution to grant the feds the specific power to do so.
I don’t believe this poll at all. I suspect the polling sample is highly skewed.
Americans in the recent mid-term elections just voted overwhelmingly against amnesty in any form. To say the public is ‘split’ is a stretch to say the least.
That 48% number is nothing but pure BS.
Note that support is high among voters 18-29 years of age, or those who in general have no idea of what work is, paying taxes, or what the economic impact of this illegal immigration decree will impart. Frankly I think the voting age should be raised or at least modified to the point that you must have a vested interest in an issue to vote on it. Eighteen year olds were given voting rights because of the draft and Vietnam Nam War. The logic was if you were at risk of being drafted and losing your life, you should have a voice in issues. Without the draft and with the incredible immaturity displayed by most youth, their right to vote should be suspended. They have been indoctrinated by public schools and overly influenced by social media. Give their minds a chance to grow and process issues before they vote. Now, having said that, I fear any change would come too late. The lack of a work ethic and politics of envy are leading us to socialism, suppression of free speech, and a “Big Brother” government.
Can’t this country just have an amicable divorce? Everybody who loves Zero as a dictator, over there, and the civilized people take the South and the West?
