The U.S. death toll from the mysterious Enterovirus D-68, which primarily strikes young children, has reached twelve. But as the number of livest lost increases, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that most states over the last five weeks have indicated “reduced EV-D68-like illness activity.”
The latest CDC update on the current outbreak of the polio-like Enterovirus D-68 states that it has now been detected “in specimens from twelve patients who died and had samples submitted for testing.” That’s one more death than was disclosed in last week’s update. The CDC account does not provide information as to where the patients died and does not disclose his/her names, ages or other details.
From mid-August to November 12, 2014, CDC or state public health laboratories have confirmed a total of 1,116 people in 47 states and the District of Columbia with respiratory illness caused by EV-D68.

I’m wondering how many of these kids got the shot for the H1N1 virus. IIRC, that shot had a paralysis warning attached.

This really pi$$es me off to no end. Article restates CDC’s own information about it is still trying to understand the illness, how it is transmitted and how far/much the reach will be. To date, 47 states in which it has shown up. [I can even recall a radio blurb saying it was South American mosquitos, imagine!]
NOT ONE MENTION of one possible correlation the CDC might make — how do the states infected related to the thousand of illegal alien children let in here by Obama and secretively dispersed throughout the 50 states.
Ulterior motives, suspicious obfuscation and omission, willful underreporting and misleading diversion about what the future holds. I could scream.

I live in a state with no reported cases of this. In October, my son developed severe respitory issues and a 104 degree fever. Our pediatrician said “it’s almost surely EV-D68.” Took him to urgent care facility where x-rays indicated lung inflamation. They administered some sort of steroid and said “call us if it gets worse.”
I asked ... is this EV-D68? ... they said “of course not, we have no reported cases of it in [this state].” I said ... “well, do you test kids for it?” and they said ... “no, there are no reported cases of it here, so we don’t need to test to see if kids who walk in have it. Even if they did, our treatment recommendations would be the same as we gave your son, so it’d be a waste. He has a respitory virus, the type doesn’t matter.”
This is very distressing.
Get a second opinion from a different doctor.

I agree with his statement and we are going through the same thing in my family. Nothing much you can do but monitor for new/worsening symptoms and then look for evidence of pneumonia or bacterial infection.
