These protestors are acting like animals. It’s that simple. I don’t ever foresee the world actually becoming a “Planet of the Apes”.

I didn’t live prior to the 1860s but I have to wonder if they weren’t better off as slaves. They were fed and clothed and given a place to sleep. Oh, wait. That describes how it is now.
As put somewhere: “Smoking marijuana will not reliably calm an aggressive person, and may increase anxiety and paranoia, thus increasing the possibility that they will lash out.” Brown had just objectively committed a seriously aggressive act, which when stone cold sober would seriously increase one’s anxiety and paranoia. Confrontation with a cop greatly increases such feelings, especially if a scuffle occurs (as did) and shots fired and injuries suffered. The anxiety/paranoia were magnified well beyond whatever calming effect occurred.
So...while there may have been peaceful effects, they were overwhelmed with off-the-charts drug-exacerbated anxiety & paranoia. Yes, it’s possible to be calm _and_ stressed out of your mind at the same time.
