“[M]inority communities typically are subject to more crime,” and “they need law enforcement more than anybody,” President Obama told ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos on Sunday. […]

“You know, in the end, what I have confidence in is that if we do a better job of training our law enforcement to be sensitive to the concerns of minority communities, then over time, trust can be built, in part because minority communities typically are subject to more crime.

“They need law enforcement more than anybody, and there are a lot of communities in my hometown of Chicago, for example, who actually want to see more police in, but they want to make sure that the police are trained so they can distinguish between a gang-banger and a kid who just happens to be wearing a hoodie, but otherwise is a good kid and not doing anything wrong.” …

Wow; overt racism from the imperial president. Never mind an overtly pro-police-state statement.

There’s some wordsmithing going on there as well. “subject to more crime”. Think about that statement for a moment. It sounds as if the crime is placed upon them. A more accurate phrase might have been “Minority communities typically commit more crime”.

Wasn’t this pretty much what Rudy Guiliani said and the liberals went nuts?

I would not put it on the “minorities” either. Wherever the family is destroyed, crime and anarchy goes up—and the radical-left Dems are all about making sure that the family is in disarray in what they in their racism term “minority” neighborhoods.

This passive voice is just the manifestation of the ongoing refusal to place the blame where it squarely belongs.

To do so denies the victimhood of “minorities, and subsequently destroys the concept that the left is committed to helping those victims.

Nope. Giuliani pointed out statistics. Obama says this is “typical” of “minorities”.

What about the "gentle giant" who just committed a strong arm robbery of a convenience store for a box of cigars and the beat a cop and grabbed for his gun inside the police car?

Subject to?
As if it just happens to them by outside forces?
I admit, one such contributing outside factor is called Liberalism.

“subject to” should read “commit more”. These LIBs/DIMs can never accept responsibility for their actions, can they?

Note that the “kid who just happens to be wearing a hoodie” reference was to whom he said his fictitious “son” would look like, too.

Yes. I wonder if Obama is admitting this inadvertently or just obliquely?

The vast majority of crimes in black communities are committed by blacks yet for some reason the cops are supposed to pretend otherwise.

“SUBJECT” to more crime???

WHO does this muppet thinks commits the crime??? Outsiders???

Yeah, bad ol’ WHITE peeple travel to ‘oppressed, poor’ hoods to steal, rape and kill. And then they go back to their ‘inherited’ wealth, back to their suburban mansions and watch Duck Dynasty?

Is he serious?

Perhaps in the last two years he (AND Michelle) can shift from race card and food police to address the pervasive low-achiever culture found in these neighborhoods and schools. I do not think I have heard ANYONE in this administration decry the ‘Rap Culture’ or the ‘Uncle Tom’ attitude towards achievers in these places.

There would be no one better than these people, as the most successful minority achievers in US History, to break the pernicious and destructive patterns that do so much to destroy family stability and personal success in this subculture. Sadly, I fear that this is a hope that will never see fruition.

Yep, victims -- always victims -- even of their own actions or inactions.

Never mind an overtly pro-police-state statement.

Which is why I know he's lying about something.
