David Brooks: "On The Republican Side, The Great And The Good Are Hoping For Jeb Bush"

JUDY WOODRUFF, PBS NEWSHOUR: Well, it — let’s look at those.

You have already got some Republicans. It’s only two weeks almost since the midterms. You have already got Republicans out there talking about whether they’re going to — or people talking about whether they’re going to run, whether it’s Jeb Bush. John Kasich won by 30 points in the state of Ohio, won reelection.

Are we beginning, David, to see the shape of who may run on the Republican side? We know, on the Democratic side, Jim Webb, the former United States senator from Virginia, formed an exploratory committee.

DAVID BROOKS: Right. Right.

JUDY WOODRUFF: I don’t know how much a threat you think he is to Hillary Clinton.

DAVID BROOKS: Right.

Well, on the Republican side, the great and the good are hoping for Jeb Bush, very pro-immigration, by the way. And I think he would…

RUTH MARCUS: … Jeb Bush.

DAVID BROOKS: If he runs, he would be strong.

John Kasich has been undertalked about. He is — knows Washington very well, was a senior budget official, a congressman. He has been a very successful governor, very popular, won by huge margins in the swingiest of the swing states, has strong connections in among religious conservatives, is just quirky enough for a country that’s kind of angry, but just establishment enough for a country that doesn’t want a crazy person.

If he runs, he will lose. Liberal republicans don't get elected president anymore.

People are sick of Obama, Reid and Pelosi’s lies. People are sick of the liberal media supporting such lies just because it is a Democrat lying. We want a change already.
Enough of destroying the country!

So the amenable token conservative at NYT has spoken....we shall nominate Jeb.....

Honestly, with the unbridled hellfire RINOs are taking from conservatives and their panicky reactions to such, just why in the h3ll does poor David think his bleats have any meaning? Here in my corner of the world, we’re ready to lynch some RINO traitors. What makes him think his spew will convince anyone but beleaguered RINOs who have more problems than him?

BEFORE THE GOP NOMINATION:

"See, see,...you right-wing wackos need to nominate a nice, pleasant moderate who can win over the Latinos and independents and find common ground with Democrats! Whooo boy, the Democrat nominee is crapping in his pants now, I tell ya!

AFTER THE GOP NOMINATION:

"The GOP nominee is too far to the right! He's too extreme! We're going to do everything we can to destroy him!"

...[Kasich is] just establishment enough for a country that doesn’t want a crazy person.

Meaqning that Brooks will not admire the crease in any trousers worn by anybody to the right of Kasich.

“The Great And The Good”?

Try neither.

Unless by that you mean “The Rich and The Powerful”

The recent finding about Obamacare and the $400,000,000 stolen to support Romneycare has effectively sunk Romney’s rerun. I believe any republican advancing amnesty like Jeb Bush is toast as well...and that’s not even bringing Common Core into it!!!

See if you’re a republican and you’re not for Jeb then you’re not great, you’re not even good. You must be bad or really bad.

The left media is only interested in who can raise money for political advertisements. They will push anyone who will cause some conflict to help each side generate money through big donors and fundraising. They need to keep both sides angry from now till 2016 election. They play a game which our lives.
