Blue Blood Democrats vs. Red-Blooded Americans
Free Republic ^ | 11/21/2014 | Loud Mime

Back in the Reagan days the Republicans were the BLUE Party; the Democrats were the RED Party. Somebody changed it after Reagan left politics; the switcharoo has been attributed to Tim Russert. At the time I didn't like it, but, judging from today's politics, it may have been a good move.

The Democrats are acting like the typical blue-bloods of history. Those were the elitists who made their own laws and own law enforcement system. They, as an aristocracy, kept a safe distance between their own properties and lives and those of the common man.

This is what we have today. But, yesterday they took another step into their disregard for the law of the land. They are the blue-blood Democrats.

The red-blooded Americans are people who believe in our Constitution and the proper enforcement of its laws. Most of these people are Republicans, but none are Democrats.

A friend of mine who writes political articles, liked this and posted it on his website today.

I think we should start using the new red and blue.

I understand, but I’m waiting to see what happens next year. The Republicans know that their followers are hard to count on, that many will bail out when the turbulence starts.

The Democrats know they have solid, emotionally-attached followers. Hence, they are braver.

Your points are well-taken, but after a lifetime associating red with Godless communism, and blue with the Continental Army, I can't change my mindset and don't wish to.

I still associate red with barbarism. Red Army, Red Brigades, Red Star, Little Red Book, Red October, Red Menace, Red Square . . . blood, torture of the Gulags . . .

I will make the best of what we have.

Actually, the few liberals I’ve used this tactic with have not liked it ONE BIT!

Give it a try.

The Orwellian newspeak switcheroo occurred on Election Night 2000. Every time a FReeper or Republican calls themselves a “Red”, they should think about how the “enlightened” class laughs at their gullibility. Red will always be the color of the totalitarian left, and hence will always be the Democrat Party color.

That is true!.....but after Reagan the “red” party hit too close to home....

Same as Orwells book for the ages “1984” used to required reading in high school....Had to throw that out...it hit to close to home the same way

Donate here!

Hey everybody! How about we get this FReepathon done before Thanksgiving to let Jim and all of the FReepers have time to enjoy Thanksgiving and the rest of the Holiday Season without seeing a Freepathon for the remainder of the quarter.

Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20 or $25 or more, please help keep freedom alive!!
We can do this! Thank you all very much!!
