Yup. Encountered one a couple days ago. I commented on a cop who has shot dozens of pets. Said that was a bad sign of a potentially serious mental health issue. One of the responses I got was basically that just wanting to be a police officer was a sign of severe mental illness.
I simply declined to respond to such stupidity.
I agree with you on both counts.
People who express that mindset lead me to believe they came out of some camp that wasn’t the foundation of Conservatism. They just don’t quite grasp that we’re a law and order nation. For that you need police officers.
I have had conversations with people who thought we could do without the police. They want very few laws, and any law enforcement to be conducted by the public.
Good grief the trouble that would lead to.
