It’s a risky dare: will Obama shut down the entire government to preserve funding for a program most Americans disagree with.
And if he does, will the GOP be able to successfully make the case that he’s the one to be held responsible for it.
Of course we’re talking about bills put forward by the new Congress. Because with Harry Reid still Senate Majority Leader there’s no way that a CR with a defund provision will ever reach Obama’s desk.
They can attach a bill defunding amnesty to funding the military. He can’t veto military funding without generating the votes to override his veto!
