It’s a risky dare: will Obama shut down the entire government to preserve funding for a program most Americans disagree with.

And if he does, will the GOP be able to successfully make the case that he’s the one to be held responsible for it.

Of course we’re talking about bills put forward by the new Congress. Because with Harry Reid still Senate Majority Leader there’s no way that a CR with a defund provision will ever reach Obama’s desk.

If you read my entire post, you would see that I suggested that it be part of any CR to continue funding the government. Yes, Obama might veto it, but then he would have to defend shutting down the government solely in order to be able to spend money for an order that the vast majority of Americans oppose.
