I don’t have to say that this Catholic will now stop giving to the Church; I stopped years ago. Wait ‘til they see how Hispanics donate; this move won’t save any dying parishes, or the American Catholic Church in general.

I generally don’t like to criticize religious institutions, but this is a contemporary issue and these Bishops have taken a public stance.

They are wrong. Nations have a responsibility to govern in a manner that will protect the primary society inside them.

To fail this, what is the national government for?

This amnesty will be devastating to the existing society.

The Catholic Church has always looked upon the US as a wealthy nation with an unlimited amount of money. It c tries to guilt believers into giving more than they can afford.

When I was an active Catholic, I dutifully gave to Catholic missions operating in Mexico, Central and South America. This on top of the billions in tax dollars given in foreign aid. These countries either pizzed the money away or crooked politicians siphoned it off for themselves. Now that these people have let their homelands turn into hellholes, they expect us to let them just waltz in and further drain our already overburdened resources.

It's time we say, no more. If the Catholic Church wants to take care of these “refugees,” let the Church take them in. I'm sure there's room for some at the Vatican. Maybe the Church can sell off some of its artwork and jewels to provide for these freeloaders.

Sorry. I and most of America are tapped out.

The US Bishops were give something like 67 MILLION dollars recently from the Federal Gov't for their work with illegals.

No wonder they are throwing their support behind Obama. Where's all the Bishops' money going to come from if taxpayers no longer fund them?

Somehow these pointy hats forget the lesson of St Paul who valued his Roman Citizenship and demanded to be tried as one. Never hear them complain about what happens to an American citizen if and when they enter for example Mexico illegally.

The Bishops have been wrong before and they are wrong now. I believe we should treat all immigrants humanely which does not preclude making sure proper immigration procedure is followed and deporting those who do not bother to follow them.

Of course they do. Just what do people think the Catholic Church is all about?

While “the poor” are frequently mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments, the frequency with which this concept is mentioned is really small potatoes compared to the many other more important aspects of man’s covenant with God.

And yet, The Church has always latched onto this aspect preferentially in the same way that socialists everywhere have, as a sacred cow that offers them indisputable sanctity they can leverage to gain power and wealth.

I take it The Constitution of the United States wasn’t taught in their schools. So how much are the RCC USA and other Liberal churches going to pay directly out of their churches own pockets for the economic and criminal damage they do? It is not a sin to have an orderly immigration system and Amnesty is not such a system. It’s rewarding an invasion some of it being encouraged by the RCC itself like the Diocese of Nashville’s stunt when they were bussed in a few months ago.
