About 25 members of the pro-affirmative action group By Any Means Necessary -- also known as BAMN - broke out with chants of "Minority enrollment's been going down, open it up or we'll shut it down" and "We don't need another committee, open it up to Detroit city," during the University of Michigan's Board of Regents meeting Thursday afternoon.
The chants quickly turned physical as the protester pressed forward toward the regents. Security responded and the group continued to press forward as multiple protesters were forced to the ground after refusing to back down and move their protest out of the meeting room.
Moments later, U-M president Mark Schlissel and the Board of Regents were escorted out of the room by security, and police responded to the seen.
Jose Alvarenga, one of the organizers for the BAMN protest, stopped the chants before delivering a written speech about "hostility and frustration" that the group feels toward the university for its "false promises and undelivered result."
"Actions speak louder than words," he said.
The group protested outside of the Michigan Union on U-M's campus last week and made it known that they would be protesting with signs and public comment.
"This university is not reserved for rich, white students," one protester said.
According to the 2014 fall enrollment numbers released by the university last week, minority freshman enrollment took a slight dip from 10.6 percent of the class to 10 percent from the previous year.

Another example of how 25 Marxist assholes can cower a school’s administration.
The police should have arrested all of them for disorderly conduct and any other legitimate cause. Students should have been suspended while non-students should have been prosecuted as criminal trespassers and for disorderly conduct.
It is just like the 60’s when most university administrators, except Hayakawa and Silber, caved into the leftist rabble. I saw it first hand and puked.
Time for the alumni to rise up in an economic revolt that will shake the very foundations of these leftist academic cesspools.
