What I want to highlight is the fact that, if the rape exception were drawn out to its full conclusions, Isabella would be considered less valuable than every other little girl her age. If the rape exception were drawn out to its full conclusions, someone would be able to kill her at any stage in her life because of the circumstances of her conception.

It is unthinkable to execute the child of a criminal, and that is exactly what the so-called "rape exception" advocates.

The dreaded rape exception: will you compromise?

I can't.

I understand the argument. I sympathize with the emotion. I can't agree with it.

Because it would make me agree with killing an innocent.

And I can not do that.

I would make the same argument against executing a pregnant woman.

Discovered many years ago, that one violent act should not be the cause of another which can and does impact the victim far more than the original act, not to mention the baby involved, who is at the mercy of the decision to end a pregnancy.

While you can argue against a rape exception, it is ultimately to the advantage of the abortion crowd.

The fact that less than 1% of abortions are rape related (Guttmacher Institute, 2004) means that holding out for that last exception continues to allow the 99%. The simple fact is that by the most liberal standard, 95% of abortions are simply a means of birth control.

A large majority of Americans are against abortion as a means of birth control. That is the argument that has to be made.

Allowing the left to control the false narrative continues the status quo. Anything that saves children, even incrementally, is preferable to the continued slaughter of millions.

Turn the tables on liberals.

Tell them to write a law that prohibits abortion except in cases of rape and incest.

Tell them if they can get that law out of committee, you’ll support its passage.

Don’t worry, you’ll never have to follow through.

BUT!

If such a law were passed and faithfully implemented, it would save over 1 MILLION babies per year.

Would you really worry about making a compromise that saved 1 MILLION babies per year?

You need not be satisfied, but you’d have to be gratified.

Would God be upset that you’d been a part of saving a MILLION babies per year?

Would He be more upset if you passed up that opportunity?

Here’s a good compromise: don’t abort the child conceived in rape; execute the rapist.

Yeah but she has to abort the baby. Giving it up for adoption might hurt her feelings #liberalLogic

My old neighbors adopted a boy who was conceived via rape. He is one of the gentlest men I know.

We have a very precious five year old grandson who is the product of a date rape. At the time he was conceived his mother was a 31 year old single mother of two.
And that pregnancy started out as twins! The afternoon our daughter cam to me and showed me the sonogram picture of two babies, I wrapped her in my arms and assured her that somehow we would get through this, and that we would all of us, her dad and mom and her sisters would camp out at her place and take turns helping to care for those babies. Four weeks later, another sonogram revealed that one of the twins had simply stopped developing. The surviving twin is a healthy. happy little boy who has been adopted by my daughter’s husband of four years.

Its nice that this woman was able to make peace with this. However, knowing some people who were victims of rape, I can’t make a sane argument that they should be asked to carry a lifetime remembrance of having such a violent act perpetrated on them.

If the only abortions today were those of rape victims it would be light years better than it is. I don’t believe these babies should have to die either, but if a law proposed to end all -other- abortions I would not move to block it. It would be senseless to condemn the other 99% to death in the meantime.

Here is your ethical dilemma: A terrorist is about to detonate a bomb in a room with 100 people in it. You can evacuate all but one of the people in the room in time. You can try to diffuse the bomb in time but you don’t know how and it is virtually certain you’ll fail. Do you evacuate the 99 while you try to save the last person or do you let them all die?

Keeping this in mind, we now come to the rape exception. The rape exception, ignoring the foundational truths stated above, says that the lives of those conceived in rape are somehow less valuable because of the circumstances surrounding their conception.

The point is not that a child conceived in rape is "less valuable" than other humans; the point is that a woman's right to control her own body trumps the rights of the innocent fetus, when that fetus was put there against her will.

Imagine that I am lost in the woods, and a blizzard is coming up that will mean my certain death. I stumble upon your cabin, where you have a blazing fire and more than enough food for both of us. The law permits you to drive me off-- at gunpoint if necessary-- because it values your right to control your property over my life. Should a woman have the same right to her uterus as you do to your cabin in the woods?

I have been raped. And on a news website, there was a discussion about this issue. People went nuts when I said that if I had gotten pregnant, I would have never had an abortion because it is still taking an innocent life. People called me a monster because “it” would always be a “child of rape and grow up with that stigma”-and I was “selfish” to bring a “child of rape” into the world.

My position has always been that having a baby from that awful experience, would have been a silver lining in a rather dark cloud; and to see good come from so much evil, would have been like a miracle.

This one poster, who identified himself as a man of the cloth (who knows?) asked me “what about your future husband or the man in your life at the time? Would it be fair to make him look at that child everyday and see the rapist?” I responded that I wouldn’t stay with or be with a man who expected me to KILL an INNOCENT life, a child, just so he could feel comfortable day to day!
He told me that it wasn’t “fair” to put a man through that and it was expecting too much from a person...I replied that if a man wanted me to kill a child-for ANY reason-than that man is much worse than the rapist—he’s a murderer in my book.

He told me “God bless and have a nice day”....I’m hoping he was struck with a thunderbolt if he really was a ‘man of the cloth’!

Somebody commits a crime and who gets the death penalty?

The baby . . . That seems fair.
