That includes police departments in cities like New York, Chicago, Detroit, San Francisco and St. Louis. The St. Louis County Police Department arrested black people (113.7 per 1,000 residents) at more than three times the rate of nonblacks (32.4).
"Something needs to be done about that," Ezekiel Edwards, head of the ACLU's Criminal Law Reform Project, told the paper. "In 2014, we shouldn't continue to see this kind of staggering disparity wherever we look."
The paper found one stunning example of racial disparity in Dearborn, Mich.:
More than half of the people Dearborn police arrested in 2011 and 2012 were black, according to reports they submitted to the FBI. By comparison, about 4% of the city's residents are black, as are about a quarter of the people who live in Metropolitan Detroit. Over those two years, the department reported arresting 4,500 black people — 500 more than lived in the city. As a result, the arrest rate for blacks, compared with the city's population, was 26 times higher than for people of other races.

Ferguson is majority black....and blacks sadly have an extremely high rate of criminal activity relative to other races.....

You know the only thing these wankers care about is that Blacks are arrested, it doesn’t matter one damn bit to them that Blacks are arrested because they committed a crime, oh no that shouldn’t even enter in to it.
Either that or just arrest enough whites to balance the numbers, no crime needed. Or arrest whites for thought crimes. Think of it as affirmative action.
It never dawned on them that blacks statistically commit more crimes? I mean, their culture glorifies crime and thuggery. What do they expect?!
Somebody is taking Gruber’s advice, and pitching policy ideas that only the mathematically illiterate could support. Arrest rates for a given sector of the population have an astonishing correlation with the rate at which that sector commits crimes. Apparently the ACLU either isn’t bright enough to figure that out, believes the American public isn’t bright enough to figure it out, or both.
I hear the idiotic “crime of driving/walking while black” nonsense all of the time. So, to even out the arrest rates — kind of an reverse affirmative action against whites (well, affirmative action is ALWAYS against whites, but I digress) — they should start arresting honkies for no reason to make blacks feel better about themselves?
Original article has 6,554 comments. Started reading some of them and they are right on the money. Idiotic race-baiting reporting. Article never should have been approved for publication, as the unspoken premise is completely irrational, ie, blacks are arrested for crime statistically more than any other race nationwide because of discriminatory police practices.
Blacks need to face up to the fact that they have a problem with crime, not as a victim of police arrests, but as a race that is prone to crime. They need to clean up their own house before they start blaming someone else.
If you want to see some real disparity, look at rape statistics that show the race of both the rapist and the rapee. You will see that white-on-black rape is so rare as to be non-existent.

Are Whites, Asians and Hispanics being allowed to just walk away from the crimes they commit? Do the Blacks who are arrested commit the crimes for which they are being arrested? Maybe, just maybe Blacks commit more crimes more often than the other groups? This is pretty close to a insanity the way it’s laid out. Anyhow that’s my opinion.
