Fail Mary: Senate rejects Keystone bill (She's Toast)

The 59-41 Senate vote was just shy of the 60 votes needed to pass the bill, following a dramatic six days of whipping by the embattled Louisiana Democrat on an issue that almost all of Washington had expected to sit idle until next year.

The defeat deals a blow to Landrieu’s campaign ahead of her Dec. 6 runoff against GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy, whom polls show running comfortably ahead.

So let me ask the Freeper community to read the tea leaves.

Next year and in 2016, the Dems will be abandoning Obama in droves. Those wanting to get reelected to their Congressional seats and those wanting to move up to higher elective positions will run away as far and as fast as they can.

Obama has become the same kind of political albatross that GWBush became in his 2nd term.

Candidates having designs on the presidency will also be running Obama and his policies.

Hillary has already expressed disagreements with the Obama policies, as she tries to latch onto Hubby's presidency. That might be a hard sell, however -- trying to as Hubby's 3rd term, since it will have been 16 years since he was president.

She won’t do that because she wants a political future, and this “vote” was just political kabuki theater.

She may run against Vitter, but more likely shell end up as Energy Secretary in the next Dem Administration.

Same thing with Begich. He wants another shot at elective office in AK. Rockefellers going off to add a small lobbying fortune to his large inherited fortune, can’t burn his bridges with the increasingly Progressive Dem Caucuses.

You bring up an excellent point that I missed. The GOP headline and talking point for this Pipeline vote should be that Harry Ried successfully filibustered this bill.

Do you think that Fail Mary is even going to phone Dingy Harry just to say, “Thanks for nothing, JERKFACE!!!”

No, most lobbyist jobs are for recommended liberals only. How else will she pay for those elegant Washington digs of hers? And back in Louzyana, she’s homeless.

“Not enough to override a veto.”

Go nuclear. Reid did it. Might as well, being the majority allows pubs to spend two years writing their own rules to box in Obama.

Princess High Cheekbones was presiding over the Senate when the vote was taken. In the gallery were some Native American protesters chanting in their language. Fox News showed Senator Elizabeth Warren, in the President’s chair, looking up at the protesters. That’s when my wife hollered at the TV, “Translate, Elizabeth, translate!”

It will mean a 10 seat pick up at this point.

With reelection of many RINOS like TN lamar alexander who votes 62% dem, that does not mean we have a majority of conservatives. Then you have all those other RINOS like thad cochran. Who are old men 70+, and RINOS. lamar pulled a cochran on his Conservative opponent State Rep Joe Carr. Otherwise he’d gone down. To many of us are tired of him, and his oath breaking of 2 terms and out. And his RINO voting record and ignoring the voters will.

A lot of us did not vote for our RINO shoe in lame duck governor, as we had 4 Constitutional Amendments on the ballot we needed 3 passed and 1 not to pass. But the GOP idiots ran NO counter adds to Amendment 2 unelected judges. They wanted it passed and were hoping Amendment 1 would sweep it in. And it did.

All the focus was on Amendment 1 which will give our legislature the right to regulate Abortion clinics, which the feds took away. Now they are nasty, dirty, places that don’t even use doctors in many of them.

So the answer is how many RINOS are in both senate and house? And can we be rid of the 2 RINOS no gonads, cry baby and mitch.

It’s too bad the people of TN, who finally wised up to algore, are not like you in voting behavior.

The 59-41 Senate vote was just shy of the 60 votes needed to pass the bill . . .

Horsecrap! The bill would have passed on a 51-49 vote. But it wasn't a bill at all. It was a procedural motion to bring the bill up for debate and it was Harry Reid who insisted on the 3/5th thresh hold as one of his final vile acts as Senate Majority Leader.

She should immediately switch parties, claiming the Democrats were destroying the middle class and the oil industry upon which most of America depends. That way she could run as a Republican in the race for the Senate seat Vitter is vacating.

The Republican Party would probably support this, and she might actually improve her odds of winning the runoff next month.

I heard a suggestion that Keystone will be passed int the new congress and signed by the president in a Boehner/McConnell deal to give the Sultan a pass on fiat Amnesty and be proclaimed a Great Victory for the Republicans. Both actions would be victories for the Republicans, though not for conservatives or the people.

Scam vote alert. I wonder how many vulnerable dems were ‘allowed” to vote for, as long as they didn’t get to that magical ‘60th’ vote.

The fix was in - Reid stacked the vote so that Landrieu would lose.

And, so Buffett would win.

She’s probably eligible for the pension and health care benefits by now, so really, what does she care? Now she can run for president against Hillary, on her pro-abortion / anti-petroleum platform.

I take the time to keep informed. And since I’ve been so sick this 18 months, I did not get to dig into our local people who were on the ballot. We moved from Memphis over the county line 2 yrs ago. And this is our first election in the new rural berg. Only 2 people bothered to knock on our door prior to election.

People just blindly vote them in with no in-tell on them. If I don’t know about you and your platform You won’t see my vote. Most of the locals run as Indy’s. So you don’t know their politics.

Why should I bother to vote for those RINOS who are going to automatically get re-elected with out my vote, because people are to lazy or stupid to learn about them. Old lamar and corker and halsam are KNOWN RINOS to any one who pays any attention at all to TN state politics. They get elected when 2 conservatives run with a RINO and split the conservative vote in the primary, making it a sure win for the RINO. TN is a red state for the first time since Civil War days. To bad so many of them are RINOS.

Memphis and Davidson Co are Dem strongholds. Memphis city can out vote the county residents who are more conservative.
